Along with Meth
manufacturing, motel managers and employees also need to watch for
trafficking. Dealers often take a room for a stretch of time to sell their
home made product. Along with the toxic drugs, they generally carry
weapons and attract dangerous customers.
In addition to
observing many of the signs of Meth cooks during check in, be aware of the
trafficking signals, too. They include:
◊Many guests coming and
going after just a brief stay.
◊Baggies and/or scales in
the room.
◊Powder residue on
countertops.
◊Drug paraphernalia in the
room (IE: pipes, needles, light bulbs, empty pen cases, etc.)
If you suspect
motel guests are dealing Meth, do not confront them. Follow the
recommendations for dealing with a tweaker and contact your local law
enforcement about your concerns.
