MAPP-SD, a project of Prairie View Prevention Services, Inc., is a comprehensive
Methamphetamine awareness and prevention project.
MAPP-SD is dedicated to:
u
Increase
awareness of Meth and the problems associated with its use, manufacture and
distribution;
u
Provide, at no cost, professional Meth awareness and prevention education to
groups and organizations on a community, regional and statewide level;
u
Be a no-cost, ongoing resource for South Dakota citizens to deal with issues
rising from the manufacture, use and distribution of Meth.

November 2005 was a huge
month for Meth arrests and seizures in South Dakota.
From January 2005 through November 2005, local, state and federal law
enforcement:
- Arrested 668 suspects in 37 counties on various Meth-related charges (64 in
Nov.)
- Seized 20.29 pounds of Meth (9.89 pounds in Nov.)
- Dismantled 17 Meth labs
the arrests included 45 on federal charges.

HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking
Area). HIDTA tracks information in selected counties throughout South Dakota and
other states. These numbers include only arrests and seizures in the
designated counties.
