distribution;

Provide, at no cost, professional Meth awareness and prevention education to
groups and organizations on a community, regional and statewide level;

Be a no-cost, ongoing resource for South Dakota citizens to deal with issues
rising from the manufacture, use and distribution of Meth.

Drug Conviction of House Guest
Overturned on 4th Amendment Grounds
The South Dakota Supreme Court ruled in mid-January that a
house guest has a reasonable expectation of privacy while visiting - a decision
which threw out evidence in a Meth-related case.
A 21-year old man who was a frequent overnight guest in a rural home near Big
Stone City was originally charged with and convicted of possessing
Methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana. The case was built on
evidence seized during a search of the friend's home. The Justices ruled
the search warrant was insufficient; the evidence was inadmissible and the
conviction was overturned.

of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects,
against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no
warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation,
and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things
to be seized."
