400+ People Arrested
 in National Sting

On Tuesday, August 30, Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales announced the results of a nationwide effort – Operation Wildfire – to fight Meth.  The Drug Enforcement Administration led a combined law enforcement effort of local, state and federal authorities in 200 cities across the United States to snare Meth manufacturers and users.  427 people were arrested; 208 pounds of Meth were seized and 524 pounds of precursor materials were confiscated.  The feds estimate the seized materials would have made enough Meth to provide 284,00 people a hit.  Read the entire transcript of Gonzales’ speech here.
