MAPP-SD, a project of Prairie View Prevention Services, Inc., is a comprehensive Methamphetamine awareness and prevention project. 
MAPP-SD is dedicated to:
u   Increase awareness of Meth and the problems associated with its use, manufacture and distribution;
u Provide, at no cost, professional Meth awareness and prevention education to groups and organizations on a community, regional and statewide level;
u Be a no-cost, ongoing resource for South Dakota citizens to deal with issues rising from the manufacture, use and distribution of Meth.

Meth, West River

Rapid City Journal reporter Heidi Bell Gease shares a series of stories examining the skyrocketing increase in the use of Meth in the West River region of South Dakota, the human and societal cost of that Meth use and hope for successful addiction treatment.
Part 1: Meth, a Growing Problem Examines the history of Meth use in the region, the perspective of the courts and law enforcement and the growing effort to combat it.
Part 2: The Human Cost of Meth Explains the impact of Meth use and manufacturing on children, plus a Rapid City teen describes how her Meth experiment started downward spiral.
Part 3: The Cost of Meth Addiction to Law Enforcement and Society An accounting of how Methamphetamine use affects you, even if you don't know one person who has ever used it. 

Part 4: Stories of Hope Recovery from Meth addiction is a tough, terrifying journey - but it is not impossible. "I lost six years of my life somewhere," shares a former Meth addict. "I can't remember where six years of my life went."
