Cleaning up
after a Meth cook takes a lot of money and a lot of work. The manager of the
Sioux Falls apartment that was busted as a Meth lab is looking at a bill in
excess of $8,000, days of clean up work and replacing much of the basics.
"They're basically going to come in and take out everything,” she explained,
“Remaining possessions, carpet, sheetrock, light switch covers, outlet covers,
any soft surface that the chemicals could have infiltrated." And she will
always have to disclose to future tenants that the unit had been a Meth lab.
Clean up
crews will also have to test the building’s laundry room and the apartment
directly above the former lab.
