Plan Ahead

With Meth, as with most illicit drug use, students often think they know more than the adults in their lives. You are probably concerned about providing the education students need in order to make an informed decision about Meth - in other words, to reduce the risk of their use.

Please don't wait for a tragedy in your school district to begin addressing the issues surrounding Meth and young people. One of the best ways for schools to help their students is to make sure that staff members (not just teachers and administrators, but also aides, bus drivers, janitors, etc.) are trained in identifying signs of Meth use and symptoms of child endangerment. They also need to be brought up to speed on the changes in the state Mandatory Reporting laws.
