Methamphetamine awareness and prevention project.
MAPP-SD is dedicated to:

distribution;

Provide, at no cost, professional Meth awareness and prevention education to
groups and organizations on a community, regional and statewide level;

Be a no-cost, ongoing resource for South Dakota citizens to deal with issues

Schools are in need of accurate, up to date information on
Meth to best educate their students. Working in conjunction with Governor
Mike Rounds' Meth Makes You Ugly campaign, MAPP-SD carefully
researched and developed educational classroom presentations and
materials, offering them free-of-charge to South Dakota’s 7th-12th grade

Meth: Myths vs. Realities -
A Meth prevention
curriculum designed as a single session add-on component for Life Skills
Training and the Strengthening Families Program, but
adaptable to other evidence-based programs. The
curriculum consists of an activity where participants identify whether
commonly heard information about Meth is a myth or a reality. Information
is based on the most current scientific research available at the time of
publication. Core curriculum materials include the Teacher's Guide and
Myths vs. Realities Cards. Lesson plans for Life Skills Training and the
Strengthening Families Program are also available. This curriculum has not
been tested for effectiveness in the classroom.
Just Think Twice - Includes information on health risks and
effects of Meth on the user and other people, environmental effects,
information on addiction and treatment. There are also a number of
links to credible resources, including many for teens.
National Institute for Drug Abuse - Information for teachers and
parents, also a section for students. This website includes materials for
elementary through high school students.
The Brain: Understanding Neurobiology Through the Study of Addiction -
Discover the fundamentals of
neurobiology, and learn how drugs of abuse change the brain. Learn that
drug addiction is a treatable, chronic brain disease.
