In
Colorado – A 19-year-old man nearly hit a police
officer when he didn’t yield. The officer pulled him over and found
20-grams of Meth in the car. The suspect admitted he had both smoked and
swallowed Meth before the near miss with the patrol car. He has been
arrested and faces charges of driving high on Meth and possession of a
controlled substance with intent to distribute. He was released from jail
after posting $15,000 bond.
In
Louisiana – Separate investigations led to two
people’s arrests on Meth distribution charges. A 32-year-old woman was
picked up when she showed up to deliver Meth for a controlled buy that
deputies had arranged. She had one-fourth of one ounce of ice Meth in a
cigarette package in her possession. She was out of a Texas jail on bond
for an arrest in December involving a large quantity of Meth. In the
second investigation, task force agents followed up on a tip of a person
selling Meth from a job site. They made contact with a 48-year-old man
who admitted to selling the Meth on the job site. He led officers to a
wooded area where four grams of Meth was already packaged for resale,
along with scales and drug paraphernalia. His record shows an arrest in
April for Meth possession.
In
California - Five people were arrested on Meth charges in three
separate cases. A 36-year-old man was picked up on charges of Meth
possession, being under the influence of a controlled substance and
resisting or delaying a police officer. He
was
arrested shortly before midnight on New Year's Eve after an officer
responded to a report of a man knocking on doors and asking if he could
stay the night. The suspect was showing signs of being high, and was
verbally
aggressive toward the officer. When the police searched him, they found a
bindle of crystal Meth in his pants pocket. A 40-year-old man was
arrested on a charge of possession of Meth and possession of Meth for
sale. Police searching for a suspect in a terrorist threat report saw a
bindle of Meth on the suspect’s coffee table and in a follow up search
found several more bindles. A 29-year-old woman was arrested at the same
location when officers found Meth and a glass pipe in her coin purse. And
in a third investigation, a 51-year-old woman and 36-year-old man were
arrested on charges of possession of Meth and drug paraphernalia.
In
Indiana – A four-month investigation culminated with two raids and
three arrests. Officers served a search warrant at one home after an
undercover officer had paid the 42-year-old man who lived there $5,000 for
seven-ounces of Meth the night before. During the search, police
recovered $7,000 in cash, more Meth, surveillance equipment and several
weapons including a semiautomatic handgun. Police served another search
warrant at a different home and arrested a husband and wife. The couple’s
two children were home at the time of the raid and were turned over to
other family members. Officers recovered an ounce of ice Meth in the
home. They also confiscated $16,250 in cash, surveillance equipment, items
used to deal or distribute Meth and two loaded handguns.
In
Ohio - Three children removed from an apartment that housed a Meth lab
were taken to a hospital to be treated for possible respiratory distress.
One of the children, a 4-month-old infant, was found in a crib inside the
same room as the Meth lab. The youngsters were found when police were
investigating reports of a strange odor in the building. Three adults in
the apartment were charged with child endangering along with various drug
offences. A 27-year-old woman and 20-year-old man face charges of Meth
manufacturing and possession of controlled substances. A 37-year-old man
was charged with possession.
In
Ohio - Detectives involved in a theft investigation discovered a Meth
lab when they executed a search warrant on an apartment. A 31-year-old
man was charged with receiving stolen property, along with drug-related
charges. Officers found a number of items stolen from a towing business –
including toolboxes full of tools, flashing lights and fluorescent bulbs
for the flashing lights. Detectives found the components for a Meth lab
in the apartment, along with a large amount of Meth. The suspect had been
free on bond on charges filed in August of operating a Meth lab.
In
Illinois – A 49-year-old man was arrested on a variety of Meth-related
charges. He faces charges of Meth manufacturing, possession of anhydrous
ammonia with intent to manufacture and possessing it in an unauthorized
container, and numerous other charges.
In
New York – A suspect made it easy for deputies investigating a
possible Meth lab. When the officers knocked on the door of an
outbuilding, the 51-year-old man opened up. One deputy asked what was
going on and the man answered, "You know what's going on, I'm cooking
Meth." Once inside the building, deputies found the ingredients used to
make Meth in a bottle and it had been cooking about 45 minutes. The
suspect is charged with starting the process of making Meth and a
probation violation warrant.
In
Florida -
A man
on probation for possession of Meth was reportedly starting to make the
drug. When deputies went to his home to question him, they saw him
walking away from a travel trailer next to the house. They found some
Meth on him and got a search warrant for the trailer. There, they found a
Meth lab and a fresh batch of Meth. The man was re-arrested and now faces
a charge of Meth possession with intent to deliver.
