MAPP-SD, a project of Prairie View Prevention Services, Inc., is a comprehensive Methamphetamine awareness and prevention project. 
MAPP-SD is dedicated to:
u   Increase awareness of Meth and the problems associated with its use, manufacture and distribution;
u Provide, at no cost, professional Meth awareness and prevention education to groups and organizations on a community, regional and statewide level;
u Be a no-cost, ongoing resource for South Dakota citizens to deal with issues rising from the manufacture, use and distribution of Meth.

In Connecticut - A 34-year-old man waived his right to a jury trial and pled guilty to Meth manufacturing charges.  Under the plea agreement with federal prosecutors, the defendant faces 57 to 71 months in prison and a fine of between $10,000 and $100,000 when he is sentenced in March.  Two of his co-defendants are serving federal sentences for possession of Meth precursors. The trio was arrested in June 2005 during a raid on their home.  Law enforcement found a complete Meth lab in the house.

In Illinois - A couple received indictments from a federal grand jury on drug-related charges.  A 44-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman are charged with conspiracy to make and distribute Meth as well as Meth possession. The woman faces an additional charge of attempting to kill a witness.  When agents raided their home, the couple was found lying in bed in the upstairs master bedroom. Three children, ages 7, 8 and 11, and another adult woman were found in other bedrooms.

In Kentucky - Police discovered a Meth lab in a condominium near a country club.  There are no reports of any arrests in connection to the lab.

In Oklahoma - A 54-year-old man and his 47-year-old wife face felony charges of Meth manufacturing.  When deputies arrived at their home to serve a search warrant, they noticed a strong chemical smell associated with Meth labs.  They found a lab in the process of a cook.  The man admitted to cooking Meth in the home two or three times a week for the past two years.  The woman admitted to smoking Meth in the house.  The man has a prior drug trafficking conviction and faces a possible sentence of ten-years to life in prison if he is convicted.  His wife faces a possible sentence of seven years to life in prison and a fine of no less than $50,000.

In South Carolina –A
46-year-old man was arrested and charged with Meth manufacturing in his home.

In Missouri - An observant sheriff's deputy on routine patrol spotted a 59-year-old man who was wanted in another county on charges of trying to make Meth.  The deputy pulled the suspect over and arrested him on the warrant.  When the deputy searched the suspect’s car, he found a small quantity of marijuana, a pipe and items used for making Meth.  The man reportedly admitted he had a Meth lab at his house.  A search turned up two small labs in outbuildings at the residence. Deputies seized about four grams of Meth along with the labs.

In Oregon - Three people were arrested on multiple charges, including some for Meth possession.  It began with the arrest of a 24-year-old man on felony drug charges.  A search of his home led to the discovery of nine-grams of Meth, 59-grams of cocaine, forged documents that included fake Social Security cards and immigration documents.  The man’s 19-year-old wife was arrested on child-neglect charges, and a 25-year-old was picked up on immigration charges.  Two children were taken into protective custody by state child welfare workers.

In West Virginia - A 40-year-old man was arrested when police found materials used make Meth at his home.  Officers were tipped off about a possible Meth lab at the house and investigated.  Along with the lab, police found a woman and a mentally and physically handicapped 13-year-old girl in the home.  The woman was not charged and Child Protective Services was called about the teen. The county plans to condemn the home.

In Florida - Investigators executing a search warrant found Meth, precursor chemicals and drug paraphernalia inside a home.   The property owner, a 42-year-old man, was arrested after a search of a camper on the property revealed a complete Meth lab and over 200 grams of Meth oil.  Investigators issued arrest warrants for the man’s 34-year-old girlfriend, who also lived in the home.

In Oregon - Police recovered luxury cars, cash and crystal Meth during a raid that wrapped up a four-month investigation.  During the bust, officers found uncut Meth and detailed records of drug sales.  The homeowner, a 36-year-old woman, was arrested, along with a 38-year-old woman and two men, 24- and 18-years old.

In West Virginia -A 33-year-old woman received a sentence of three years probation for her involvement with a Meth lab that sparked a fire in the home of an elementary school teacher nearly two years ago.  She pleaded guilty to charges related to the lab in the basement of the man’s home. The woman has a record of other offenses, including charges of receiving a controlled substance and operating a clandestine drug lab. 

In New Mexico - Three men- 25-, 23- and 20-years old - pleaded not guilty to selling a quarter-pound of Meth to an undercover narcotics agent in November. They face multiple charges including trafficking a controlled substance with intent to distribute and conspiracy to commit a crime.
