January 8

In Tennessee - Two men, 30- and 22-years-old, and a 17-year-old boy were arrested when a driving-under-the–influence stop turned into a Meth bust.  Deputies found 8-ounces of Meth in the car after they pulled it over for erratic driving.  Authorities say the case may be turned over for federal charges, and they hope to try the teen as an adult.

In Arizona - A vocational teacher at a juvenile-detention facility was one of four people arrested when sheriff's deputies raided a home where they say Meth was manufactured.  The 51-year-old man has been placed on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation. A spokeswoman said they had no indication he was funneling any drugs to any students. Sheriff's officials believe he had been cooking Meth at his 1.5-acre compound for at least three years – and they had been trying to get on the property that entire time. The suspect’s 49-year-old wife and brother, also 49, were arrested along with a 47-year-old man.  All four lived at the compound.  Sheriff's deputies serving search warrants at the compound and at a business, where they believe the Meth was sold, found just under an ounce of Meth and a garage lab set up to cook more.  Lab items and waste were found in a backyard shed.

In Tennessee - P
olice tracking information in a missing persons report found the 42-year-old man’s body along with evidence of a Meth lab in a pallet company.  The body was discovered in an abandoned building at the business.  The man had been working on a welding project for the business over the past month. Police are still looking into whether the man was cooking Meth and are waiting for the coroner to determine what killed him.  There was no obvious trauma or evidence of an attack.

In California -
An 18-month-old child was rushed to the hospital after police responding to a home on a call of a youngster suffering seizures.  The toddler and the mother were both under the the influence of Meth.  The mother was arrested and the child was turned over to Child Protective Services after being treated at the hospital.

In Wisconsin – Seven people were arrested when police busted a drug and burglary ring that stretched all the way to Minneapolis.  The investigation kicked into high gear when undercover deputies bought Meth from one suspect. When they executed a search warrant they found more Meth and lots of stolen property.  Deputies seized thousands of dollars of stolen goods, including riding lawn mowers, ATV's, a snowmobile, and many power tools – enough items to require two flatbed trailers for transportation.  The case led investigators to a Meth dealer in Minneapolis, where police found a pound of Meth. The dealer reportedly put together a stolen-goods wish list and told his users to steal what was on the list for him, and then he would give them drugs as payment.

In Wisconsin -
A 30-year-old man pleaded guilty to conspiring to make Meth. He admitted that he acquired materials to make Meth and manufactured it with another man, who is serving a 57-month federal prison term for his role in the case.
