MAPP-SD, a project of Prairie View Prevention Services, Inc., is a comprehensive
Methamphetamine awareness and prevention project.
MAPP-SD is dedicated to:

Increase
awareness of Meth and the problems associated with its use, manufacture and
distribution;
u
Provide, at no cost, professional Meth awareness and prevention education to
groups and organizations on a community, regional and statewide level;
u
Be a no-cost, ongoing resource for South Dakota citizens to deal with issues
rising from the manufacture, use and distribution of Meth.

In
Indiana – A 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman are charged with
possessing and manufacturing Meth within 1,000 feet of a school and park.
Police following up on information executed a search warrant on their home
and discovered an active Meth lab. Both suspects face multiple charges,
including some felonies.
In
California - A 15-month-old girl is recovering after somehow
swallowing Meth. Her parents are both jailed on charges of child
endangerment and being under the influence of a controlled substance. The
child is in protective custody. Police are not sure how Meth got into the
little girl’s system.
In
Aberdeen, South Dakota – A husband and wife, 38- and 39-year’s old,
admitted their roles in a Meth lab discovered late last year in Doland.
They both pleaded guilty to manufacturing Meth, a felony punishable by as
much as 10 years in state prison and a $20,000 fine, and to keeping a
place for the use or sale of drugs, a felony punishable by as much as five
years in state prison and a $10,000 fine. They have not yet been
sentenced. Two other people arrested in the case are still making their
way through the court system.
In
Michigan - Two men, 40- and 37-years-old, are charged with
manufacturing and selling Meth. Investigators found evidence of Meth
production at their homes.
