January 12
In
Alabama - Three suspects were arrested when investigators discovered
evidence of a manufacturing operation in a mobile home. Two men, 34- and
30-year-old, and a 27-year-old woman are all charged with second-degree
manufacture of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
Officers found a few grams of finished Meth, and all the materials needed to
make more.
In
Missouri -
The search
for a small, white pickup truck in connection with the abduction of a
13-year-old boy led deputies to a Meth lab. Officers responded to a report of a
white truck at a house that was similar to the one being sought in connection to
the kidnapping. A 44-year-old man told a deputy that he had just bought the
property from his mother. The deputy noticed a chemical odor and asked for
permission to search the home. He found a sawed-off shotgun and chemicals. All
told, when the search was complete, drug agents found the Meth lab components
and numerous weapons. In addition to Meth lab charges, the man also is
suspected of being involved in poaching deer and turkey based on animal remains
found at the home.
In
West Virginia – A man charged with operating a Meth lab in the same home his
children were in received a sentence of two to ten-years in prison. The
defendant, who is the son of a state delegate, and his wife were charged with
operating a clandestine lab and child endangerment. They were arrested last
May. His wife's case has been continued until the end of the month.
In
Kentucky -
Police broke up three working Meth labs at a secluded property, and uncovered a
trove of stolen property in the process. Police had received complaints about
drug activity and had been investigating people allegedly associated with it
since last year. Police found two Meth labs inside the house and another
outside. They also found a variety of stolen items, including tools, all-terrain
vehicles, air compressors and generators. A 31-year-old man was arrested at the
scene, and police were searching for two other men who ran during the raid. A
37-year-old woman, who had been staying at the home with her 4-year-old
daughter, arrived while the police were still on the scene. Police charged her
with making Meth and child endangerment, among other charges.
In
Utah – When a police officer tried to pull over a car without a license
plate, the driver took off. That started a chase that ranged in speeds from
60miles an hour in residential neighborhoods to more than 100 miles an hour on
the freeway. Eventually, the driver took an exit, and his car burst into
flames. Police rescued him from the car and took him to jail. Officers found
drug paraphernalia in his car and believe he was on Meth.
