In Sioux Falls, South Dakota (From the Argus Leader) - A 23-year-old woman faces drug possession charges after her daughter found Meth in her bedroom.  Police said the 4-year-old girl brought the glass portion of a light bulb to her grandmother, who found a pipe and Meth residue inside and called police.  Officers spoke to the girl's mother, who police said admitted the drugs were hers. She was arrested for possessing a controlled substance and paraphernalia.  The girl was placed in the custody of her grandmother.

In Indiana – A 50-year-old man will spend 12-years in prison for his guilty pleas in a Meth lab case.  He was arrested in 2005 when a search of his property turned up five pounds of pill dough (a waste product of Meth making), 650 lithium batteries, an estimated five pounds of ephedrine pills, two 100-pound compressed air cylinders, 10-pound and 20-pound gas grill size propane tanks (all converted to hold anhydrous ammonia), about $3,900 cash, a .40-caliber Berreta handgun and about 40-grams of Meth.  After his 12-years in prison, the man will serve eight years divided among Community Corrections and probation. In exchange for his guilty plea to Meth possession, charges of dealing Meth, possession of ephedrine, possession of precursors, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia were dismissed.

In Arizona - A 40-year-old Mexican man who attempted to smuggle Meth into the United States last year will be sentenced in March.  A federal jury convicted him of possession of Meth with intent to distribute and importation of Meth.  He faces a minimum of 10 years in prison on each count, a $4 million fine, or both.

In Texas - More than 40 people suspected of Meth trafficking were arrested in simultaneous raids in the culmination of a nine-month investigation. The multi-jurisdictional undercover operation resulted in about 80 arrests overall.  Officials recovered more than eight-pounds of Meth, 115-grams of crack cocaine; 86 grams of ecstasy and 17 firearms.   The case got underway when a sheriff's department informed the DEA about a rise in robberies and burglaries tied to the Meth trade. After a series of undercover buys, the authorities were ready to move in on the suspects.  Warrants are still outstanding for 10 to 15 other people involved in the operation.

In Virginia - An illegal immigrant convicted of dealing Meth received a 19-year sentence in federal prison.  After serving his sentence, the 22-year-old man will face a deportation hearing. He was one of five men arrested last February in a raid on an apartment.  Officers found $25,000 worth of Meth and two firearms.

In North Dakota - A 33-year-old woman who was found guilty of two Meth-related charges in November received her sentence.  The judge handed down a term of eight years with two suspended for delivery of Meth (the second time she has been convicted of this charge).  She was also sentenced to three years of supervised probation for delivery of Meth within 1,000 feet of a school.  That felony could have resulted in a life sentence.  The woman will get credit for 262 days she has spent in jail since her arrest.
