In Iowa - A 27-year-old man was been arrested on Meth-related charges after a traffic stop.  He was pulled over and alleged to be driving a vehicle with a suspended license.  When an officer searched the suspect’s vehicle, he found a plastic bag containing Meth and a glass pipe allegedly used to smoke it.  The suspect was charged with felony third-offense possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor drug-paraphernalia possession.  He posted $10,725 bond to be released from jail.

In California - A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug charges after a short foot pursuit. He now faces charges of Meth possession and resisting or delaying an officer.  When two officers on foot patrol approached him the suspect took off running. A search of the area revealed a small bag of Meth on the sidewalk five feet from where he was taken into custody.

In Ohio - An officer pulled a driver over after noticing the car weaving down the road.  The driver, a 51-year-old man, appeared nervous and had glassy eyes.  The officer called a K-9 unit, which alerted to Meth in the car.  The suspect was arrested and a search turned up a small plastic bag of Meth in the man’s wallet, and a drug ledger in the car. The man had a child in the car with him.

In New Mexico - A self-admitted Meth dealer may be granted a conditional discharge on drug charges if a judge takes the advice of prosecuting attorneys.  The 45-year-old man admitted in court that he sold Meth to a confidential informant, but claims he does not use it.  He says he was selling the Meth to help an unemployed woman who was living with him at the time.  The district attorney's office says it has an evidentiary problem and a witness availability problem in the case and recommends the conditional discharge.  If the judge accepts the recommendation, the man’s drug charge will be stripped from his record following the successful completion of probation.

In Virginia - A 25-year-old man was convicted of possessing materials to make Meth and sentenced to five years in prison - but the prison time was suspended.  When police raided his mobile home in 2005, they found evidence of a Meth lab.  The defendant was first charged with possession with intent to manufacture and distribute Meth.  He pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of possessing the ingredients to make Meth.  He was ordered to pay $1,665 in court costs, and he lost his driver's license for six months.

In Illinois - Two men, 26- and 25-years old, are charged with Meth manufacturing.  The charges stem from the bust of a mobile, or rolling, Meth lab.

In Wyoming - Two more people linked to a Meth ring have been sentenced to prison.  A 21-year-old woman received a sentence of eleven years and three months in prison for conspiracy to distribute Meth and another ten years in prison for attempted witness tampering. The sentences are to be served at the same time.  A 35-year-old woman was sentenced to five years and ten months in prison for conspiracy to possess Meth with intent to distribute.  The two women are among 21 people linked to the Meth ring and indicted on federal felony drug charges. Several of those people have been convicted.

In North Carolina - A trespassing call turned into a Meth bust when sheriff’s deputies discovered a drug lab and $120,000 worth of Meth.  Deputies who arrived at the call of a trespasser found a 31-year-old man near what was supposed to be a vacant mobile home.  People were still coming and going from the home and it still had electricity.  Deputies searched the suspect and found a white powder. A search of his vehicle turned up materials to make Meth. The lab was found inside the mobile home.  The man faces multiple Meth related charges.

In California – Authorities report a large Meth bust made on
Super Bowl Sunday. A 28-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were arrested and officers seized a half-pound of crystal Meth. The couple’s toddler was taken into protective custody.  The two are charged with child endangerment as well as multiple Meth offenses. The bust led to another search warrant at a relative's residence, where officers seized more Meth and a sawed-off shotgun.

In Iowa -
A 26-year-old man convicted in January of possessing Meth and marijuana was sentenced to prison.  He was ordered to spend up to one year in prison for the Meth possession charge, up to two years in prison for carrying weapons and another six months for possessing marijuana.  The sentences will run consecutively.  He was fined $1,000 and given credit for time served in a county jail.
