In Texas - A 26-year-old man was found guilty of delivering Meth to a minor. Police arrested him and a 16-year-old boy during a traffic stop in 2005. Investigators found 13 grams of Meth on the teenager. The adult suspect allegedly used the teen to sell it on the streets. He faces up to 20 years in prison for delivering the drug to the teenager and up to life for the amount. The teenage boy served time at the state youth commission for his role in the crime. In Oregon - For the second time in five months, drug agents raided a home and arrested a 53-year old man for dealing Meth. The suspect was on pretrial release for charges pending from an October 2006 drug raid and arrest. Officers received credible information over the course of the past several months that the suspect was once again allegedly involved in drug sales from the same home. When officers executed a search warrant they seized about one-half ounce of crystal Meth, cocaine, marijuana, narcotics paraphernalia, packaging supplies, and weight scales. The suspect was re-arrested with charges of possession, delivery, and manufacture of Meth. In Minnesota - A 44-year-old man whose home was raided by authorities as part of a narcotics investigation nearly a year ago has been sentenced to 20 years of probation, a year in jail and drug treatment. The defendant received the sentence for two drug-related cases filed last year. One case was filed in March after law enforcement officers targeting a suspected drug ring searched his rural home. Authorities allegedly found 84-grams (about 3 ounces) of Meth in his home, along with several firearms; drug paraphernalia; surveillance cameras; and a small improvised explosive device. The man and two others at his home that day were arrested. In that case, he pleaded guilty to first-degree controlled substance crime -possession with intent to sell Meth. The judge stayed execution of a prison sentence of more than eight years in that case and ordered him to serve probation. The sentence is concurrent with one handed down in another case against the same suspect, filed in October after a state trooper stopped his car. The man was apparently on his way to court but was arrested after the trooper found Meth in his possession. He pleaded guilty to possession of Meth in that case. The judge stayed execution of a 13-month prison sentence in that file, ordering the defendant to 10 years probation, 120 days in jail with credit for 120 already served, 30 days community service and $82 in surcharges. In Colorado - A drug suspect feigned ignorance of Meth allegedly found in his possession, but his protests weren’t enough to keep him out of jail. The 43-year-old man is accused of possession of more than 1 gram of a schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute and, because he allegedly transported drugs across state lines, as a special offender. A drug task force had been investigating the suspect for a few weeks and conducting surveillance. When agents spotted his car heading towards an airport, they were ready with search warrants for both his vehicle and home. When police stopped him, he stopped and then tried to drive away. He was stopped a short distance later. A search of his car yielded more than 2-grams of presumed Meth in his luggage. Officers are trying to confirm the suspect’s legal status. Back to
