In FloridaA sheriff’s office working with the state’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission arrested a couple on Meth charges.  The 56-year-old man and 47-year-old woman were picked up after an investigation that began when the man was photographed by a deer camera trespassing on a private hunting club carrying an assault rifle.  A criminal history check revealed he was a convicted felon and a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of armed trespassing and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  After his arrest, deputies searched his home and found Meth manufacturing materials and paraphernalia for smoking and packaging it.  His wife was charged with two felonies: possession of Meth with intent to sell and possession of chemicals for manufacturing Meth.  Deputies seized six firearms from the home, including an assault rifle.

In Texas -
A combined task force of federal, state, and local law professionals is closing down a major Meth ring.  Officers began executing 14 federal arrest warrants charging defendants with possession with intent to distribute Meth – and two defendants are already in custody.  The investigation, named Operation Icebox, began in January 2003 and has netted many undercover purchases and seizures of both drugs and guns.

In Illinois - A suspected Meth lab was discovered in a house in a residential neighborhood after agents were tipped off about possible Meth manufacturing. A 40-year-old man was arrested in just before the raid and charged with numerous felony counts relating to Meth and possession of Meth precursors.

In Iowa - Two people were arrested for Meth manufacturing after a lab was discovered at their home.  Two children, 5- and 8-years-old, were also living at the home at the time of the bust.  The lab was discovered when employees from the Department of Human Services and police officers visited the home on a welfare check and noticed the strong odor associated with Meth manufacturing. A search led to the discovery of an apparent Meth lab on the third floor attic of the house, and about 12-grams of finished Meth.  A 42-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested and face a variety of felony charges.  The two children were transported to a hospital for decontamination and physical examinations, and were later released to a relative.
