MAPP-SD, a project of Prairie View Prevention Services, Inc., is a comprehensive Methamphetamine awareness and prevention project. 
MAPP-SD is dedicated to:
u   Increase awareness of Meth and the problems associated with its use, manufacture and distribution;
u Provide, at no cost, professional Meth awareness and prevention education to groups and organizations on a community, regional and statewide level;
u Be a no-cost, ongoing resource for South Dakota citizens to deal with issues rising from the manufacture, use and distribution of Meth.

In Missouri - A 44-year-old woman is wanted on Meth manufacturing after sheriff’s deputies found an active Meth lab inside a home.  Deputies had a search warrant for the residence, and discovered the active lab, along with inactive components, in the trash inside and outside the house. 

In Oregon - Deputies pulled over a car when they recognized the driver as a person with outstanding warrants.  The 23-year-old man was served a search warrant, and officers executed it on the spot.  They found 11 bags of what appeared to be crystal Meth.  Deputies then obtained a search warrant for the man’s apartment, where they discovered a loaded handgun, a small marijuana growing operation, drug paraphernalia and unknown pills. 

In California -
A former gang member turned graduate student and intervention worker was arrested after police pulled over his car and found a pound of Meth.  The 30-year-old was arrested on suspicion of transportation of narcotics.  He has been honored over the past year for getting out of a gang, turning his life around and giving back to the community by helping other gangsters. 

In Georgia - A couple arrested in November 2005 pleaded guilty to Meth manufacturing.  The 30- and 29-year-old had reportedly been cooking Meth in a lab set up in a lean-to behind the house they both lived in.  After their guilty pleas, they were each sentenced to 10 years probation, a $3,500 fine, 80 hours community service, a curfew, reimbursement of attorney fees to county and completion of a drug rehabilitation programs.
