In Indiana A 22-year-old man who died after being arrested on suspicion of transporting drugs had seven small plastic bags of Meth, all with twist ties around them, in his stomach area along with another bag stuck in his esophagus.  His girlfriend, who was with him in the car at the time of his arrest, told officers he swallowed the bags when the deputy pulled them over.  He also had his 13-year-old sister and 3-year-old daughter in the car.  The teen was released to her parents and the Division of Family and Children took custody of the toddler.

In Oregon A report of a possible drug house with children living in it led to a major bust of a Meth distribution ring. The investigation began at about 11:15 AM and finished just after 1:00 AM.  In all, 12 adults were arrested on 78 criminal charges and 17 children were taken into protective custody.  The sting went from the reported house, to three more houses and a motel room.  The suspects range in age from 29 to 51, include eight women and four men. One of the women is about six-months pregnant, and had already had two children taken away because of previous drug use.  The children range from 1-month old up to 17-years.  One 15-year-old told officers he delivered Meth for his mom at least four other times and had used Meth with her at least five times in the past month.  The adults face multiple drug and child neglect/abuse charges.  One woman’s total bail on the charges is $9,385,000.00.  PLEASE READ THE COMPLETE COVERAGE AS PUBLISHED BY THE SALEM NEWS

In Oregon An investigation into a suspected Meth house led to a SWAT team raid.  Officers found evidence of Meth use and past Meth production.  Five adults who were in the house at the time of the raid were decontaminated and charged with frequenting a place where drugs are used.  A 39-year-old man who lived in the home is charged with Meth possession and delivery.

In California Federal agents raided a home and arrested a man allegedly operating a Meth lab.   Agents arrested the 28-year-old after a search of his two-level home turned up chemicals and equipment that would be able to make about an ounce of Meth at a time.  When the agents entered the house, the chemical fumes and smell overwhelmed them.  They had to break the windows out to ventilate the area.

In Oregon When police pulled over a 38-year-old woman in a routine traffic stop, they discovered Meth in her possession.  During her arrest, she told officers that she sold drugs.  Police got a search warrant for her home and found more Meth and other drugs.  Two children in the house were put in protective custody; the woman faces multiple drug and child endangerment charges.

In Indiana Members of a Drug Task Force spent eight hours cleaning up a huge area of Meth manufacturing.  The scene covered 1.5 acres and involved Meth waste from 30 abandoned labs. Officials believe the same person or small group of people, not 30 separate individuals, ran all the labs.

In Oregon A 32-year-old man arrested when he ran from police in a routine traffic stop, while carrying a five-pound box of crystal Meth, was arraigned on drug charges.  He is charged with delivery of 10 grams or more of Meth.
