In
Indiana A 22-year-old man who died after being arrested on suspicion
of transporting drugs had seven small plastic bags of Meth, all with twist
ties around them, in his stomach area along with another bag stuck in his
esophagus. His girlfriend, who was with him in the car at the time of his
arrest, told officers he swallowed the bags when the deputy pulled them
over. He also had his 13-year-old sister and 3-year-old daughter in the
car. The teen was released to her parents and the Division of Family and
Children took custody of the toddler.
In
Oregon A report of a possible drug house with children living in it
led to a major bust of a Meth distribution ring. The investigation began
at about 11:15 AM and finished just after 1:00 AM. In all, 12 adults were
arrested on 78 criminal charges and 17 children were taken into protective
custody. The sting went from the reported house, to three more houses and
a motel room. The suspects range in age from 29 to 51, include eight
women and four men. One of the women is about six-months pregnant, and had
already had two children taken away because of previous drug use. The
children range from 1-month old up to 17-years. One 15-year-old told
officers he delivered Meth for his mom at least four other times and had
used Meth with her at least five times in the past month. The adults face
multiple drug and child neglect/abuse charges. One woman’s total bail on
the charges is $9,385,000.00.

In
Oregon An investigation into a suspected Meth house led to a SWAT team
raid. Officers found evidence of Meth use and past Meth production. Five
adults who were in the house at the time of the raid were decontaminated
and charged with frequenting a place where drugs are used. A 39-year-old
man who lived in the home is charged with Meth possession and delivery.
In
California Federal agents raided a home and arrested a man allegedly
operating a Meth lab. Agents arrested the 28-year-old after a search of
his two-level home turned up chemicals and equipment that would be able to
make about an ounce of Meth at a time. When the agents entered the house,
the chemical fumes and smell overwhelmed them. They had to break the
windows out to ventilate the area.
In
Oregon When police pulled over a 38-year-old woman in a routine
traffic stop, they discovered Meth in her possession. During her arrest,
she told officers that she sold drugs. Police got a search warrant for
her home and found more Meth and other drugs. Two children in the house
were put in protective custody; the woman faces multiple drug and child
endangerment charges.
In
Indiana Members of a Drug Task Force spent eight hours cleaning up a
huge area of Meth manufacturing. The scene covered 1.5 acres and involved
Meth waste from 30 abandoned labs. Officials believe the same person or
small group of people, not 30 separate individuals, ran all the labs.
In
Oregon A 32-year-old man arrested when he ran from police in a routine
traffic stop, while carrying a five-pound box of crystal Meth, was
arraigned on drug charges. He is charged with delivery of 10 grams or
more of Meth.
