March 26, 2007In New York Two Missouri men, 37- and 22-years-old, were arrested for on Meth charges and face similar charges in South Dakota. They are wanted on warrants for a Meth lab in Redfield, South Dakota. They were picked up in New York after two traffic stops and the execution of a search warrant for an apartment yielded a Meth lab. A 24-year-old from Montana was also arrested for hiding one of the other men in his vehicle during a traffic stop. They were all employed as subcontractors at the construction site of an ethanol plant. The two-month long investigation began in South Dakota. The search of the New York apartment revealed the chemicals and equipment associated with a Meth lab. The two Missouri men are being held without bail on the fugitive from justice warrant. They both appeared in for extradition hearings for their warrants in South Dakota. The two men will face charges in both New York and South Dakota. Federal charges are pending. In Tennessee Three people were arrested on various drug charges after a chase and seizure of a mobile Meth lab. A 44-year-old man is charged with promoting Meth manufacturing, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, reckless endangerment, felony evading and possession of drug paraphernalia. A 36-year-old man faces similar charges, and a 34-year-old woman is charged with promoting simple possession of marijuana and prescription drugs. One of the men had an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court last year on Meth manufacturing charges. The three were arrested after a 45-minute car chase followed by their attempt to hide in a wooded area. Officers seized marijuana, pills and Meth lab materials. In
Illinois A 50-year-old man received a sentence of 27 years in federal
prison after being found guilty of conspiring to make and distribute
Meth. He was convicted following a two-day trial last November, in which
he acted as his own representation. The defendant has a long criminal
history and has been sentenced to at least six prison terms totaling 17½
years. In one of his last arrests before being indicted, he was taken
into custody in a discount store’s parking lot. When officers searched his
vehicle, they found more than 1,000 pseudoephedrine tablets, 18 cans of
automotive starter fluid, five gallons of camper fuel and 33 lithium
batteries. He was among nearly three-dozen people arrested in the Meth
conspiracy case. The other 30 co-defendants have either pleaded guilty
and have been sentenced or currently are awaiting sentencing. In West Virginia The arrest of a man in his home following a Meth lab raid was the sixth such bust in six days in the same county. More than 16-people have been arrested on Meth charges. Back to
