In
Nevada
Five people landed
in jail, each charged with trafficking Meth. Undercover officers bought
more than 83-grams of Meth, some times near a park, during the six-week
investigation. The four men and one woman face multiple charges. One
transaction alone involved more than 28-grams of Meth, making it a
category A felony punishable by imprisonment for life with the possibility
of parole after 10 years; or a definite term of 25 years with parole
eligibility after 10 years, and a fine of not more than $500,000
In
California Police nabbed three
people on suspicion
of drug charges following two unrelated cases. A 25-year-old man was
pulled over because the truck he was driving had a broken windshield.
Officers found a black plastic case behind the driver’s seat, containing
two baggies of crystal Meth and a glass pipe. The driver and his
26-year-old passenger were both arrested. Neither of them claimed
ownership of the Meth.
In a
separate incident, a 44-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of
possession of Meth and drug paraphernalia, driving while unlicensed and
driving with expired registration. She was pulled over when an officer saw
her driving a pickup with expired registration. A search turned up a small
amount of Meth and a glass pipe. The woman told officers the items were
not hers, and that she found them in the garage of her home. She claims
she placed them in her purse to keep them away from her children.
In
Indiana Police discovered a Meth lab in the office of an attorney who
was recently sentenced to a drug treatment program. The 30-year-old man
now faces drug charges after police raided his home office. He was
arrested in a traffic stop as police were in the process of obtaining a
search warrant for his office and home. He told officers there was nothing dangerous in his home or office.
He was sentenced to the drug treatment program earlier this year after
being convicted on a misdemeanor charge. He had been arrested in 2006 when
police found him outside a home where a Meth lab was discovered.
In
Idaho Sheriff's deputies pulled over a 43-year-old man during a routine
traffic stop and found him in possession of Meth and drug paraphernalia.
He is facing several charges including felony manufacturing, delivering
and possession of a controlled substance.
In
Arizona Officers
discovered about 19 grams of Meth in an apartment. A 27-year-old woman
was arrested after police served the search warrant at her home. Two
children were turned over to relatives.
In
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada A kilogram of Meth for a member
of the Hells Angels was dropped on the counter of a deli in a mall in
September 2004 by a police agent who infiltrated the biker gang. The
officer revealed that information during a trial. He also described the
calls, meetings and text messages he had in August and September that year
with the accused trafficker and others allegedly involved in selling Meth
linked to the Hells Angels. Two people were charged after a massive
undercover operation that culminated in a police raid on two Hells Angels
clubhouses and the arrest of 18 people, including six full-patch members.
In
Tennessee A man authorities describe as the cooker for a large Meth
operation received a prison sentence of nine years in prison. He was one
of four people arrested during the raid on a major Meth lab in 2005.
