In
Virginia Sheriff’s deputies are investigating what appear to be
remnants of a former Meth lab. They were told about the dumpsite and
discovered two 15-gallon tanks and a breathing apparatus. They are
investigating its origins while the site is being cleaned up.
In
Indiana A man and woman who had been staying at a motel now face drug
charges after an alleged Meth lab was discovered in their room. Officials
found the lab officers went along with a parole officer conducting a
routine check on the 41-year-old man. He has already been arraigned on
parole violations and also faces multiple Meth-related charges. The woman
is also under arrest; her ten-year-old daughter was discovered living in
the room with the couple and has been turned over to Child Protective
Services.
In
Montana A 48-year-old woman pled not guilty to Meth possession with
the intent to distribute. She is charged with having more than 250-grams
of Meth when she was arrested last July. The federal charge normally
carries a mandatory sentence of ten-years to life in prison and a
$4-million fine. But the woman has two earlier felony drug convictions
and the government is seeking an enhanced sentence of life in prison if
she is convicted on the latest charges.
In
Georgia
Sheriff’s deputies have located and arrested a
33-year-old man suspected of tossing a makeshift Meth lab when he ran from
a traffic stop two weeks ago. Officers have been looking for the suspect
since deputies found a discarded gallon jug containing Meth and a bag
containing ingredients for making more. He has been charged with
manufacturing Meth. He also faces charges of obstruction and a parole
violation. He had been released from a federal prison in early February
of this year after serving a sentence on Meth-related charges, and had
served 19-months of a 10-year prison sentence on other drug charges before
that. A 20-year-old woman, who was a passenger in his car, was also
arrested on Meth manufacturing charges.
In
Idaho A number of law enforcement agencies, including the Drug
Enforcement Administration, state and local offices, announced the bust of
a
long-running Meth ring. 11 people were picked up on a number of charges.
During the investigation, undercover agents bought Meth from several of
the group members. During the raid, search warrants turned up drugs in at
least three different locations. Officials believe the Meth ring was in
operation for several years.
