MAPP-SD, a project of Prairie View Prevention Services, Inc., is a comprehensive
Methamphetamine awareness and prevention project.
MAPP-SD is dedicated to:

Increase
awareness of Meth and the problems associated with its use, manufacture and
distribution;
u
Provide, at no cost, professional Meth awareness and prevention education to
groups and organizations on a community, regional and statewide level;
u
Be a no-cost, ongoing resource for South Dakota citizens to deal with issues
rising from the manufacture, use and distribution of Meth.

In
San Pedro & Arkansas A 34-year-old American man who had been living quietly
on the island of San Pedro Ambergris Caye was found and deported back to U.S.
He is wanted in his home state of Arkansas on charges of manufacturing and
trafficking crystal Meth.
In
Montana A 44-year-old man who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute
Meth was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years in federal prison. He had been
under investigation, and was arrested after being pulled over for speeding in
2006. He allowed a sheriff's deputy to search his vehicle, and the officer
found 5 ounces of Meth and drug paraphernalia, plus more Meth on the suspect.
He also had a .45-caliber handgun.
In
Ohio Two people were arrested in a Meth lab bust after officers received a
tip that the suspects purchased several cans of starting fluid. When officers
went into the home, one of the suspects refused to leave the house and hid in
the rafters of the attic. Investigators found
large
amounts of ammonia, ether, acid and other Meth-related chemicals.
