In South Dakota -
Two people
are charged with running a Meth lab in a home near two schools. The homeowner,
a 37-year-old man, is a realtor. Police found and arrested him at his father’s
home. He is charged with Meth
manufacture,
possession and distribution charges and for keeping the drugs at his in a school
zone, which could add an additional 20-years to his sentence if he is found
guilty of the charges. A 40-year-old woman, who did not live in the home, is
charged with
possessing both Meth and klonopin, a potent drug prescribed for epilepsy and
anxiety disorders. An utility employee called police after smelling chemicals
in the home’s basement. One police officer described the lab as one of the
bigger ones found.
A lawyer from the States Attorneys office said that the fumes coming from the
home were so bad it actually made some officers sick on the scene.
