April 27, 2007In South Dakota – Officers arrested a woman and two men in connection with a Meth lab in a residential area – the third such bust in just a few weeks. The multi-agency raid turned up a small Meth lab in a home’s basement, along with drug paraphernalia, a recipe for cooking Meth and Meth residue. The three suspects all face charges of possession and manufacturing a controlled substance, maintaining a residence where drugs are sold and misdemeanor marijuana charges. From KELO- TV and the Argus Leader In Nebraska - An anonymous tip led officers to a Meth lab near an intersection. Investigators found a propane bottle with a remanufactured valve attached and filled with anhydrous ammonia. No one has been arrested in connection to the Meth lab. In South Carolina - Six people were picked up after a yearlong investigation of a drug trafficking conspiracy, and authorities have an arrest warrant for a seventh. The investigation stemmed from a home burglary, where firearms and Meth were stolen, that officers learned about through interviews. When they realized the homeowner never reported any theft, they investigated further. In
California –A
27-year-old man pleaded guilty to a single federal charge that he tried to
smuggle more than 2-1/2 pounds of pure Meth to Hawaii. He was arrested in
February while trying to board a flight. During a security screening at the
airport, screeners discovered the Meth divided into six quart-sized plastic bags
in the pockets of his cargo pants. He faces a possible sentence of ten-years to
life in prison when he is sentenced in July. |
