In Georgia - Two people were caught in the middle of a Meth cook after investigators received a tip about possible drug activity.  Officers executed a search warrant and found the 40-year-old woman and 35-year-old man in a shed on the property.  Authorities came through the door and, overcome by the harsh chemical fumes, were forced to grab the two suspects and race back outside for fresh air. There were no children around at the time of the bust, but the man faces child abuse charges because officers found evidence that a child had been present.

In Tennessee – Eight people were arrested after officers busting a Meth lab found remnants of at least 69 previous cooks and the capability to make pounds more. The suspects include Meth manufacturers and customers who showed up during the raid.  Four children, ranging in age from 12 to 16, were at the home when police arrived; they were placed with child protection services.  Several animals found on the property were taken to an animal shelter and decontaminated.

In Alabama – Troopers attempting to pull over a car for failed taillights ended up in a high-speed chase, with speeds exceeding 80 MPH in a residential area.  When officers eventually got the driver to pull over, they saw all the materials needed for cooking Meth in the car.  The 24-year-old driver was arrested on numerous charges, including second-degree manufacturing, driving under the influence of a combined controlled substance and reckless endangerment.

In Indiana – A law limiting the amount of pseudoephedrine or ephedrine people may buy led to a Meth lab bust.  A state trooper compiled a list of 53 people who had recently bought more than three grams of the products within a week and shared it with sheriff deputies.  They served an arrest warrant at one home, and received permission from the homeowner, a 50-year-old man, to search the premises.  They discovered a Meth lab in his garage.  The active lab was in the final stages of a cook when the deputies found it.  The man was arrested on multiple Meth-related charges.

In California –One woman was arrested after a search of property turned up Meth. Officers found about 50-grams of Meth – more than enough to charge her with intent to sell.

In Illinois – A 26-year-old man convicted of Meth manufacturing received an 18-year prison sentence, but that may not be the limit to his time behind bars. He faces similar charges in another county. He was arrested, along with a 24-year-old woman, in 2005 on charges of cooking Meth inside a motel room.
