MAPP-SD, a project of Prairie View Prevention Services, Inc., is a comprehensive Methamphetamine awareness and prevention project. 
MAPP-SD is dedicated to:
u   Increase awareness of Meth and the problems associated with its use, manufacture and distribution;
u Provide, at no cost, professional Meth awareness and prevention education to groups and organizations on a community, regional and statewide level;
u Be a no-cost, ongoing resource for South Dakota citizens to deal with issues rising from the manufacture, use and distribution of Meth.

In Alaska - A 42-year-old man will serve 20 years in a federal prison on Meth and firearms charges.  He was convicted by a jury on charges of possession of Meth with intent to distribute, Meth distribution and being a felon in possession of firearms.   Officers found over a pound of Meth and numerous guns in the defendant’s home when they served a search warrant.  He was forbidden to own firearms following an earlier felony conviction, which also was related to Meth.

In Oregon 31-agencies worked together to serve search warrants at eight locations after a three-month investigation into organized crime families responsible for supplying Meth to dealers.  The search warrants led to the arrests of seven people, the seizure of three cars, $37,022.00 in cash, 1˝ pounds of Meth, 3 ounces of Cocaine, and a 9mm handgun.  Seven children taken into protective custody by the Department of Human Services.  The suspects face multiple charges, ranging from racketeering to delivery of Meth to endangering the welfare of a minor.  Bail amounts range from $10,000 up to $2,540,000 and one person is held with no bail.

In Tennessee – An arrest for burglary led to a Meth lab bust.  Elderly residents reported someone had forced entry into their home through a back door in April, stealing prescription drugs and money.  The culprit left fingerprints, which led to an arrest warrant for a 31-year-old man.  Deputies who served the warrant found a Meth lab inside a recreational vehicle on the property. 

In New Mexico - Two 46-year-old men were arrested and charged with Meth trafficking after officers busted their Meth lab.  Police found Meth, both finished and some in various stages of manufacture, after an anonymous phone call led them to the house. 

In California - Officials found a dormant Meth lab with chemicals capable of producing two pounds of pure Meth when they executed a search warrant at an apartment.  When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man on the roof trying to get away.  Inside the garage and apartment, investigators found a complete Meth lab.   Four adults and a 3-year-old child were present.  One of the adults had a $50 “balloon” of heroin and another was a parolee.

In Pennsylvania - Three people who had Meth charges dropped last summer had them re-filed, and new charges were brought against three others.  The six are believed to be involved in Meth manufacturing and trafficking.
