May 16, 2007In British Columbia, Canada - A month-long investigation led to the seizure of one kilogram – just over two-pounds - of crystal Meth and one arrest. Police found the Meth when they pulled over a car. The driver, a 39-year-old man, was arrested and faces charges of possession with intent to traffic. Officers also searched his home and discovered a kilogram of cocaine and $15,000 in cash hidden throughout the home. In Florida - Police arrested a 49-year-old man after detectives found a Meth lab aboard a 48-foot yacht docked in a canal behind his home. He is charged with manufacturing crystal Meth with intent to deliver and possession of crystal Meth. Police investigated after receiving a tip Tuesday about a potential Meth lab. The suspect pleaded no contest in 2005 to charges of possession, selling and manufacturing Meth. In Oregon – A state police trooper seized about an ounce of Meth after pulling a driver over for speeding on the interstate. The trooper had also witnessed a young male passenger drinking beer. During the stop, the trooper saw two open containers of alcohol at the feet of the 14-year-old male passenger. A drug dog detected the Meth hidden under the passenger side floor mat. The driver, a 27-year-old man, was arrested and charged with unlawful delivery and possession of Meth, first-degree child neglect, and driving violations. A 3-year-old child was also in the car. Both minors were turned over to a relative. In
Virginia – Officers broke up a Meth lab before it was operational.
They seized the equipment and materials before the cooks had the
opportunity to manufacture any Meth. The lab was found in residences and
outbuilding on a large dairy farm. The farm owner does not live on the
property, and says his sons run it.
