In Rhode Island – One man was sentenced to seven years in federal prison for his role in a Meth lab; his codefendant was earlier sentenced to 12-years.  According to their statements, the two men made Meth in one suspect’s shed.  They also planned to send extracted ephedrine to someone in California to make more Meth. The two, 49- and 32-years-old, had pleaded guilty to federal Meth charges.  When officers raided the property they seized 16 pint bottles of iodine, 120 capsules of ephedrine, a large container of drain cleaner, an acidity tester and other materials used to make Meth.

In Indiana - A 31-year-old man was arrested on drug possession charges after he was caught allegedly trying to get rid of several grams of Meth.  He was picked up in his home after officers got a tip about his activities.  Another man, 53, who was in jail at the time, was also charged in the case.  Both men face felony charges related to manufacturing Meth.

In South Carolina - Sheriff's deputies discovered a home Meth lab and arrested four people after a six-month investigation.  The Sheriff says when officers entered the home on a search warrant the fumes were so bad that it backed them out of the home.  Inside, they found a bathtub filled with a red phosphorus-based liquid as well as small quantities of Meth.  Three men, 46-, 42- and 30-years-old, and a 39-year-old woman face charges ranging from Meth possession, trafficking, child endangerment and unlawfully disposing of Meth waste.  The house was not only a Meth lab but also a home to a 15-year-old mentally disabled boy, who is related to two of the suspects. He was placed in the care of the state Social Services.
