In Alabama A grand jury handed down an indictment for a 25-year-old man on Meth trafficking charges. He was originally arrested in December when officers allegedly found 33-grams of Meth in his car following a traffic stop.

In Iowa – Equipment violations led to a man’s arrest on Meth charges.  The suspect was pulled over when officers noticed his car had expired Nebraska plates, a faulty windshield and a broken taillight.  Inside the car, they found precursors for Meth manufacturing.  The man was arrested; a woman passenger was released without facing charges.

In New Mexico - A former teacher changed her not-guilty plea and admitted she had Meth in her classroom.  The 36-year-old was first arrested in March 2006, after police found her and a man in her elementary school classroom late at night.  She had Meth in her purse.  She was arrested a second time months later at a car wash when police found her carrying two baggies of Meth.  She faces up to 4-1/2 years in prison in exchange for her guilty pleas.

In Florida - Four people face Meth possession and manufacturing charges after a police raid on their home.  Officers found Meth manufacturing equipment and chemicals in the kitchen.

In Iowa – A 22-year old man pled guilty to Meth possession with the intent to distribute.  The defendant admitted he possessed approximately 11-grams of Meth, numerous baggies, a scale and other items associated with trafficking.  He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years’ imprisonment and a possible maximum sentence of 40 years’ imprisonment, a $2 million fine, a $100 special assessment and 4 years of supervised release when he is sentenced in September.

In Iowa – A 54-year-old man received more than seven years in federal prison for dealing Meth.  He pleaded guilty to distributing Meth and possessing firearms.  He admitted he conspired with others to distribute Meth and that he sold Meth to a confidential informant.  When he was arrested, officers seized marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a triple-beam scale, a hand scale, body armor, and several firearms during the execution of a search warrant.
