In California - Narcotics agents busted a home Meth lab and arrested two people.  The investigation stemmed from a number of tips, and when officers arrived, they instantly knew they were approaching an established Meth lab.  The chemical odor met them at the door, and they found glass containers full of chemicals littering a shed on the property.  A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of manufacturing Meth.  A woman was also arrested but has not yet been charged.

In Montana -
A 33-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were ordered to stay in jail until their trial on various Meth and weapons charges.  The federal judge in the case declared the two were dangers to the community.  The pair pleaded not guilty to several charges including Meth trafficking, firearms violations and conspiracy to launder money. They are believed to have distributed at least one-and-a-half pounds of Meth each.

In Idaho – A 51-year-old man who pled guilty to Meth trafficking was sentenced to 13-years in federal prison. When he is released from prison, he will be on supervised release for five years.  Because he was in the United States illegally, he will most likely be deported.  He was one of two people arrested after months of investigation in 2006.   Federal agents and police officers purchased large amounts of Meth from both the man and woman involved.  The woman was found guilty and will be sentenced in August.

In New York – Another 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a Meth lab.  He is charged with Meth manufacturing, criminal possession of a weapon and growing cannabis.  He, along with the other 16-year-old, was allegedly found with the equipment and materials to make Meth.  One was also found with a homemade zip gun and a marijuana plant.  They have both been released on bail.

In Tennessee - Sheriff's deputies arrested a man they allege had a mobile Meth lab in his truck, and they are investigating a possible connection between the suspect and a stabbing victim.  The suspect was arrested after officers found him sleeping in his truck with a Meth lab, located close to another Meth lab in the woods near the place of a stabbing.  The victim, a 29-year-old man, was stabbed multiple times.

In Alaska
A 65-year-old man was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison after being convicted of trying to possess Meth with the intention to distribute it.  The defendant was also ordered to forfeit his firearms and the $144,000 seized during his arrest. According to federal authorities, he accepted a package of about 11-pounds of Meth. It was the largest single seizure of Meth in the state's history.

In Florida – Federal agents arrested two men and seized just over three-pounds of Meth in a sting of a Mexican National DTO (Drug Trafficking Organization). The suspects arrived at a motel to make detailed arrangements; officers tracked them and pulled their vehicles over on their way to complete the deal.  The suspects, 37- and 28-years-old, are charged with trafficking Meth.

In New Mexico - A former county sheriff’s deputy was sentenced to a year’s probation after pleading guilty to attempted possession of Meth.  He was arrested last July after he was accused of taking Meth from a driver during a traffic stop and not logging it as evidence.

In Texas - A towing company employee called investigators after finding guns in a vehicle he had towed. When deputies arrived to check it out, the vehicle’s owner, a 28-year-old man, was already there.  A routine check alerted the deputies to an outstanding warrant charging the man with probation revocation on a previous drug sentence.  They arrested him at the scene and a woman associate of the suspect gave officers permission to search the vehicle.  They found an assault rifle, a .380-caliber pistol, and numerous baggies of Meth, scales, pipes and pills, plus $722 in cash. Both the man and woman were arrested on a range of charges. They are both previously convicted felons.

In New Mexico - Police found a newborn baby in the middle of a Meth lab bust. Three adults, all with prior drug convictions, are accused of operating the lab out of an apartment complex. Police found the five-week old infant next to the chemicals inside the apartment, and took the baby directly to a hospital.  The state department of Children, Youth and Families took custody after the child was released from the hospital.  Two of the three adults are charged with child abuse, making and selling Meth.  The third, a woman, is charged with child abuse and selling Meth.  It wasn’t clear if the three suspects are related to the baby.
