July 6, 2007In Indiana - State and local police raided a Meth lab that they describe as one of the largest they have seen. The raid stemmed from a probation check, when officers noticed the home was equipped with surveillance gear. They got a search warrant and raided the home, finding the Meth lab and a large amount of materials for producing Meth. They also discovered processed Meth, Meth in the process of being cooked and a large amount of cash. Three small children were removed from the home and turned over to Child Protective Services. Police arrested a 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman. In Minnesota – A 36-year-old woman was found with 3.4-grams of Meth in her car after being pulled over for having a cracked windshield. A search of the vehicle also turned up marijuana, a glass pipe and a digital scale. She faces charges of fifth-degree controlled substance possession. In
Arkansas – A man and woman were
formally charged with felony possession of Meth and paraphernalia following
their arrests in May at a courthouse. They were taken into custody after a
deputy learned there was a wanted man sitting in a pickup truck in the
courthouse parking area. Three young children were in the truck with the
suspect. The man told the deputy that a woman – who also had active arrest
warrants out – drove him to the courthouse. The woman was arrested in the
courthouse; the man was arrested in the parking lot. A search of the suspects
and truck turned up nearly a half-ounce of Meth. In Nebraska - A 27-year-old woman pled not guilty to Meth possession charges. She was arrested in June after consenting to a search of her car during a traffic stop. The deputy reportedly found a variety of prescription medications in a bottle, a baggie containing Meth in her luggage, as well as a metal container holding marijuana and a pipe. If she is found guilty, she faces a possible maximum prison sentence of five years. In Missouri - A 60-year-old man pleaded guilty in federal court to his role in a Meth distribution conspiracy. He faces up to 40 years in prison and a maximum $2-million fine when he is sentenced.
