groups and organizations on a community, regional and statewide level;

Be a no-cost, ongoing resource for South Dakota citizens to deal with issues
rising from the manufacture, use and distribution of Meth.

In
Ohio - A 47-year-old man and his 37-year-old wife are charged with five
felonies relating to Meth and child endangerment. The couple is accused of
manufacturing Meth in their home while their 6-year old son was living there.
The child was removed from the home by children services. Two search warrants
at the home turned up the components and materials for a Meth lab.
In
Oklahoma - Investigators are probing the death of a 24-year-old woman who
died from burns sustained during a possible Meth lab explosion in June. She
died weeks after the explosion while being treated at a medical center. No
charges have yet been filed in the case.
In
Texas - A 57-year-old Meth cook politely accepted a 40-year prison sentence
after pleading guilty to manufacturing Meth. “Yes sir, I’m guilty,” and,
“Guilty as charged, sir,” were responses the defendant made to questions posed
by the judge. He was arrested in February after giving officers permission to
search his home, where they found a Meth lab and a syringe filled with Meth.
After receiving his sentence, the defendant told the judge, “Thank you, sir, you
have a nice day,” to which the judge responded, “You do the same, as far as you
can.”
In
Florida - Police serving a search warrant at a house found Meth and the
equipment and chemicals used to make more. Two women, 55- and 28-years old, were
arrested. They both face charges of Meth manufacturing and unlawful possession
of listed chemicals.
In
Wellington, New Zealand - Three
people were convicted after police raided a suspected Meth lab in a historic
store. A 40-year-old woman, the proprietor of the store, was
convicted of possession of equipment for manufacture of Meth. Her husband,
38-years old, and another man, 36, were convicted of conspiracy to manufacture
and possession of equipment for manufacture. When officers raided the store,
they found the lab as well as two 6-year-old girls in the residential part of
the business. The store dates back to 1873.
