In
West Virginia – A drug task force following up on an anonymous tip
about a possible Meth lab discovered one in a home. Investigators found
several people in the secluded home and were questioning them. No charges
have been filed yet.
In
Ohio – A 38-year-old woman converted her SUV into a mobile Meth lab
and took it on the road – along with her 14-year-old son. The suspect was
indicted on charges of assembling chemicals for Meth manufacturing,
inducing panic and endangering children. She was arrested earlier this
year after police pulled her over in a traffic stop and found the lab set
up and her son in the vehicle. Her son was placed in temporary custody of
a relative. She was released after her arrest on the original charges,
but a warrant was issued for her to be re-arrested on the indictment.
In
Alabama - A 46-year-old man is charged with drug trafficking after a
traffic stop turned into a Meth bust. Officers allege the man tossed a
bag from his car when they first tried to pull him over for running a stop
sign, and that a test of the contents came back as positive for Meth. The
bag held 229-grams of the drug. Even though bond was set for the suspect,
he will stay in jail because authorities suspect him of being an illegal
immigrant.
In
South Carolina – When officers
approached a house to investigate a complaint about a suspicious man, they
heard the back door open and saw someone walk out of the home. They also
noticed a strong chemical odor wafting from the home. After calling for
backup from a narcotics enforcement team, they saw in plain view a number
of items associated with Meth manufacturing. By the time the raid was
complete, officers seized 10-grams of Meth, 12-pounds of material in the
process of being manufactured into Meth, $1,000 in cash and two firearms.
Police arrested two men, 36- and 25-years-old, and two women, 33- and
26-years-old.
In
Colorado -
Two
parents have been charged in connection with a suspected Meth lab that
caught on fire. In addition to drug charges, the 34-year-old man and his
32-year-old wife face six counts of child abuse. Their one-year-old
daughter lived in the home with the Meth lab, and they took her on the run
with them following the fire. The husband also faces an arson charge in
connection with that blaze.
In
New Zealand - Police
discovered a suspected Meth lab – the second one in as many days in the
same town. Authorities believe the two labs may be associated. Three men
have been arrested on drug related charges.
