In GeorgiaA man was arrested in connection with an alleged Meth operation under investigation.  The suspect is charged with possession of anhydrous ammonia.  Five other people were arrested a week ago, accused of buying large amounts of pseudoephedrine medication.

In Wyoming - Trial dates are now set for two people allegedly caught in June with thousands of dollars worth of Meth.  The 26-year-old woman and the 25-year-old man each face a felony charge of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute, and to distribute, Meth.  They were arrested after officers found a half-pound of Meth un their car after a traffic stop. If they are convicted on all charges, they could receive up to a 10-year prison sentence and $4,000 fine.

In Kentucky - A once-prominent female jockey and her husband received sentencing after pleading guilty to charges of having and making crystal Meth.  The woman faced up to 10 years in prison, but her lawyer told the court she’s been drug-free for several months, has undergone treatment, and works full-time.  The judge granted her probation.  Her husband received a 25-year sentence after police said he organized several Meth operations.

In California – Police arrested a 28-year-old man who allegedly provided drugs, including Meth, to high school students.  Officers served a narcotics search warrant in his home and reportedly found
two handguns, Meth, cocaine and ecstasy.  Police believe that the suspect endangered a minor on 35 separate occasions and furnished or offered a minor ecstasy or Meth on 15 other occasions, and that he may have distributed drugs to other students in the community.  He faces charges of possession of controlled substances with intent to sell, providing a minor with drugs, and felony child abuse.

In Virginia - A 30-year-old man busted with 2½ pounds of Meth in his home pleaded guilty to a federal drug felony and will probably be sentenced to 20-years.  He pleaded guilty to one count of Meth possession with the intent to distribute and signed a plea agreement that would bring the 20-year sentence.  A federal judge must approve the deal before the punishment is final.  The defendant could have faced life in prison and up to $4-million in fines if his case had gone to trial and he had been convicted on all charges.

In Tennessee - Four people were arrested after police stopped what's believed to be a mobile Meth lab.  Officers pulled over the car when they saw it driving erratically.   Police found four people inside, and what are believed to be Meth and materials used to manufacture it.  The male driver fought with the police and will probably be charged with resisting arrest.  A woman passenger tried to run and may face charges for fleeing the scene.  Two other passengers were in the car and were arrested without incident.

In Texas - A woman who was wanted on child endangerment charges after her son was found with Meth in his system turned herself in to police.  The 21-year old allegedly took Meth to her mother’s house. Her 8-month-old son came in contact with the Meth, and ended up in the emergency room.  The grandmother was arrested in June.  The mother is out on bond, but all three of her children are in foster care.

In England - A flat, or multiple-housing unit was cordoned off after police discovered a suspected crystal Meth factory in one of the homes.  The home was cordoned off while specialist search teams and crime officers were called in to remove evidence for analysis. A 47-year-old man was arrested and questioned about the lab.  He was released on bail.   In the United Kingdom, Meth is listed as a Class A drug.  Users face up to seven years in jail, while dealers can be jailed for life.
