In
California - Police officers pulled over a car because the stereo
system was playing at a volume exceeding the legal limit. They discovered
the driver, a 29-year-old man, had a suspended license and arrested him.
When the officers performed a routine search of the car, they came across
35-grams of crystal Meth, along with scales and more than a thousand
dollars in the driver's area of the car. The suspect now faces charges of
possession and possession with intent to sell Meth, as well as his driving
violations.
In
West Virginia - A 46-year-old man landed back in jail after deputies
alleged they found several coolers full of Meth-making materials in a
house he owns. Deputies had been monitoring the man’s activities after he
bonded out of jail following an earlier arrest on charges of operating a
Meth lab.
In
Ohio – One man is in custody and another is still at large after
police busted a home Meth lab. A 43-year-old was picked up at the lab
location and is charged with Meth possession. Police are still looking
for a 45-year-old who is charged with Meth manufacturing. They believe he
lived in the home where the lab was discovered. A search of the residence
also turned up a shotgun, breathing masks and a collection of chemicals
and drugs.
In
Pennsylvania - Authorities broke up a Meth and cocaine ring when they
arrested six of seven suspected drug dealers. Police are searching for
the seventh suspect, who they believe may have left the state. The
investigation, known as "Operation Speedball", began last year when an
informant told authorities where they could buy large quantities of Meth.
Over the course of the investigation, the informant and undercover
officers bought thousands of dollars worth of Meth and cocaine from the
suspects.
In
Illinois – Firefighters found the remnants of a suspected Meth lab
when they extinguished a blaze in a wooded area surrounded by cornfields.
The coordinator for a drug task force examined the scene and believes the
fire was started by the Meth production. The fire burned between 1.5 and
2 acres before it was extinguished. Among the evidence officials
discovered were a fire extinguisher with the lid blown off that had been
used to transport anhydrous ammonia, several ether cans that had exploded
and a container full of crushed pseudoephedrine.
