Provide, at no cost, professional Meth awareness and prevention education to
groups and organizations on a community, regional and statewide level;

Be a no-cost, ongoing resource for South Dakota citizens to deal with issues
rising from the manufacture, use and distribution of Meth.

In
Florida – Several concerned citizens called authorities about
suspicious activities at a home, and when
investigators checked out the tips they discovered a Meth lab. Officers
arrested one man on suspicion of several drug charges.
In
Colorado - SWAT officers found two young children and arrested two
adults when investigators uncovered a Meth lab at a townhome. Officers
were following up on information that led them to believe that the home
had a Meth lab. They discovered the chemicals and equipment associated
with Meth manufacturing. The children, both under the age of six, were
placed in protective custody.
In
Virginia -
A
convicted Meth dealer received a 27-year prison sentence. The 28-year-old
man, a Salvadoran national, will face a deportation hearing after serving
his sentence. He was arrested in 2006 during raids on two homes where
authorities seized more than 7-pounds of Meth, two firearms and almost
$10,000 in cash. The man’s three co-defendants pleaded guilty to drug
dealing charges and received sentences of less than five years.
In
Texas -
Two men involved in a Meth distribution organization that spanned three
states were sentenced to federal prison following their guilty pleas to
possessing Meth with the intent to distribute it. The two, 24- and
22-years-old, were arrested in a major Meth sweep, called “Operation
Icebox”, in 2005. The 24-year-old received a sentence of three-years in
prison and the younger man received a sentence of two years and three
months in prison.
In
California – Drug task force agents seized two vehicles and funds from
three banks after finding four-pounds of crystal Meth and
a 9 mm
Baretta handgun
during a search warrant execution at a home.
Three
brothers, 30-, 29- and 20-years-old, were arrested on various Meth and
weapons charges.
