In North CarolinaFumes from a Meth lab in a car made a police chief sick during the bust that ended with one man’s arrest.  The chief saw a driver run off the road four times in a short amount of time and pulled the car over.
When he stopped the car, the officer smelled alcohol and searched the car.  He found a mobile Meth lab in the car and was overcome by hydrochloric acid gas. His throat began to swell and he experienced shortness of breath. Two other officers at the scene called in backup. The chief was treated and released from a hospital.  The suspect was arrested on multiple Meth-related charges.

In Florida - Authorities discovered Meth on a tree farm and arrested the property owner – after finding him 46 hiding inside a compartment hidden underneath the false floor of a master-bathroom cabinet.  Officers found about six grams of Meth inside the house and more than 1,500 grams in an out building where the 46-year-old suspect is believed to have been manufacturing it. His 44-year-old girlfriend faces charges of possession of Meth and paraphernalia.

In Illinois - A 26-year-old man arrested in July on Meth manufacturing charges pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of Meth possession.  He was sentenced to five years in prison, with credit for the 56 days he spent in the county jail.  He was one of 12 people arrested during a raid on an apartment Meth lab.  A 14-month old child was also found inside the house, and police say the toddler had been present during the Meth production.  The prosecution intends to focus on five individuals whom they believe had an active role in cooking the Meth.

In Arizona – Eight people arrested on identity theft charges were allegedly stealing identities help subsidize their Meth habit.  Some members of the group were operating from a motel room.  According to police, they stole mail to obtain private information so they could write phony checks for quick cash.

In Illinois - An Iowa man is charged in Illinois after police allegedly found Meth in his semi-truck.  The 34-year-old faces charges of Meth possession, unlawful use of weapons, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Officers were tipped off to the suspect after a drug store employee reported a suspicious couple was buying a large amount of Sudafed.  Police pulled over the truck and the woman who was driving consented to a search.  Officers found the Meth, paraphernalia and brass knuckles.  The man told police that all of the suspicious items were his.
