North Carolina – Fumes from a Meth lab in a car made a police chief
sick during the bust that ended with one man’s arrest. The chief saw a driver
run off the road four times in a short amount of time and pulled the car over.
When he stopped the
car, the officer smelled alcohol and searched the car. He found a mobile Meth
lab in the car and was overcome by hydrochloric acid gas. His throat began to
swell and he experienced shortness of breath.
Two other officers at the
scene called in backup. The chief was treated and released from a hospital. The
suspect was arrested on multiple Meth-related charges.

A 26-year-old man arrested
in July on Meth manufacturing charges pleaded guilty to the lesser offense of
Meth possession. He was sentenced to five years in prison, with credit for the
56 days he spent in the county jail. He was one of 12 people arrested during a
raid on an apartment Meth lab. A 14-month old child was also found inside the
house, and police say the toddler had been present during the Meth production.
The prosecution intends to focus on five individuals whom they believe had an
active role in cooking the Meth.
