Sept. 11, 2007In
South Carolina - Four people face Meth manufacturing charges. The
suspects – 39-, 23-, 19- and 17-years-old – were arrested after officers
raided a home.
In
Wisconsin – Five men involved in an interstate Meth trafficking scheme
have been convicted. Four defendants spent about seven years traveling
from Wisconsin into Minnesota to purchase up to a pound of Meth at a time
from the fifth man. Their trips increased from once every few months at
the beginning up to weekly by the time they were arrested. They would
then sell the Meth in smaller quantities back in their home state. The
four defendants from Wisconsin each face a minimum of five years in
federal prison, but could be sentenced up to forty years and a $2 million
fine each. Their supplier faces up to 20 years in federal prison and fine
of up to $1 million. They will be sentenced over the next two months. In Florida – Authorities raided a trailer home located next to a small house in a residential neighborhood and discovered a suspected Meth lab. Officers found an unusually sophisticated set up that they believe had been used for quite a while to manufacture Meth. Two men and a woman who were in the trailer when deputies arrived were held for further questioning, but no one has been arrested yet. One of the detained men used to live at one of the two nearby trailers used as Meth labs that officers busted last month. Back to
