In Iowa - Police investigating a burglary at a marina discovered a Meth lab on board a boat.  The owner called officers after discovering the break-in, and the responding officers found apparent Meth lab leftovers.  The owner had not been on the boat for several weeks, and authorities believe the Meth cooks used the boat as their base of operations for much of that time.

In Washington, D.C. -
Federal authorities arrested 17 people on charges of operating a crystal Meth ring in the nation’s capital.  An undercover officer reportedly bought Meth and firearms – including a .50 caliber sniper rifle - from several members of the group more than once.

In British Columbia, Canada -
Authorities seized more than 500 kilograms (over 1100 pounds) of powdered ephedrine and arrested three people.  Border authorities discovered the barrels of the Meth precursor hidden in a shipment from India destined for a local business.  Investigators estimated the ephedrine could have yielded nearly 800-pounds of crystal Meth.

In Minnesota – A 54-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man were arrested after deputies searched a home and found Meth.  The two face Meth possession charges.  A second woman in the home was arrested in connection with a probation violation.

In South Carolina - A man standing at the end of a driveway at a home where neighbors complained about a suspicious smell was enough to trigger an investigation.  The first officer on the scene, a state trooper, stopped when he saw the suspect standing by the road, appearing under the influence of drugs.  A deputy joined the trooper, and they both smelled a strong chemical odor.  After cuffing the 39-year-old man, the officers called for back up and searched the home.  They discovered a Meth lab in the kitchen, along with finished Meth.  They also found what appeared to be a live mortar round, and exposed lithium battery strips that created a heightened risk of an explosion.  The suspect is charged with Meth manufacturing and possession, and unlawfully disposing of Meth lab waste.

In Kentucky – Officers with t
he state police drug investigations unit found an alleged Meth lab when they served an arrest warrant on a 42-year-old man wanted in three different counties.  In addition to the Meth lab, officers found finished Meth, thousands of dollars, 44 hydrocodone, two oxycodone and 49 Valium pills.  A 19-year-old was arrested along with the older man; both are charged with multiple Meth-related crimes.

In Utah – A
sheriff's deputy assigned to a drug task force was arrested after he allegedly admitted to using Meth and cocaine he took from an evidence room.  The 28-year-old man may face charges of drug possession and evidence tampering, and was placed on administrative leave.  Investigators searched his home after he admitted to using the drugs, and the search turned up a broken Meth pipe, burned tinfoil used to smoke Meth and empty sealed evidence bags.  The suspect told detectives he used drugs taken from the evidence room and used other drugs from his K-9 training equipment.

In New Mexico - A bomb squad was called on for help during a Meth lab raid after officers found a pipe bomb in the home.  Technicians blew up the device at the scene and disposed of it. No one was hurt during the operation.  The search of the home also turned up several items used to cook Meth.
