Sept. 25, 2007In
Alabama – A 41-year-old man faces multiple charges related to Meth
manufacturing after deputies raided his home. The officers served a
warrant and discovered “a large amount’ of Meth and chemicals inside the
home. They found more manufacturing materials in outbuildings behind the
house.
In
Florida – Police busted a major Meth ring, headed by a 44-year-old
woman and her two sons, 26- and 19-years old, along with 16 other people.
Detectives believe the woman purchased large amounts of Meth from
high-level drug dealers and then gave it to her sons to distribute among
lower-level drug dealers in the trafficking ring. The sweep, called
"Operation Broken Ice," netted 32-pounds of Meth - enough for more than
14,500 1-gram doses. Officers executed search warrants at three
locations, surprising many of the suspects while they were sleeping – some
with loaded rifles in their beds. At one place, police found a homemade
bomb. Officials are still looking for 15-more people believed to be a part
of the Meth ring. In New Mexico - Deputies tracking a stolen tractor by GPS came across a man they suspected was cooking Meth at a salvage yard. Deputies say the huge lab produced some of the purest, most potent Meth they’ve ever seen. They also discovered about 40-weapons, including a Mac-10, and Uzi and fully automatic assault rifles. Officers believe the weapons were traded for Meth. The lab was directly across the street from a refinery storage tank farm for tens of thousands of gallons of gasoline. The suspect, a 40-year-old man, had just finished cooking a batch of Meth and was armed with a handgun when officers arrived. Back to
