MAPP-SD, a project of Prairie View Prevention Services, Inc., is a comprehensive
Methamphetamine awareness and prevention project.
MAPP-SD is dedicated to:

Increase
awareness of Meth and the problems associated with its use, manufacture and
distribution;
u
Provide, at no cost, professional Meth awareness and prevention education to
groups and organizations on a community, regional and statewide level;
u
Be a no-cost, ongoing resource for South Dakota citizens to deal with issues
rising from the manufacture, use and distribution of Meth.

In
Colorado – Seven people were arrested after a 10-month investigation into an
alleged Meth ring operation. They are charged with distributing large amounts of
Meth, as well as manufacturing. While officers were serving a warrant for some
members of the ring, they found a Meth lab in a storage shed and
several firearms as well.
In
California –
A 28-year-old
woman faces child endangerment charges. Paramedics found the woman unconscious
in her home after prematurely giving birth in a toilet. The medics thought
infant was dead, but hospital employees later heard the baby cry. The baby boy
tested positive for Meth and marijuana, but he was in stable condition.
In
Oklahoma - A
man and a woman were arrested after police tried to pull them over for an
expired tag on their license plates. They refused to stop, and led officers on a
chase. When police eventually caught them, the passenger was arrested and the
driver took off running. A police dog caught him in a field. A search of the
car turned up a Meth lab in a gym bag hidden in the trunk.
In
West Virginia - Sheriff's deputies uncovered a Meth dumpsite when they
responded to a concerned citizen’s call. Someone who was walking through the
woods came across the materials used in a Meth lab and called authorities.
Among the items deputies found were chemicals, empty Sudafed packaging and a jug
full of an unidentified liquid.
