Methamphetamine awareness and prevention project.
MAPP-SD is dedicated to:

Increase
awareness of Meth and the problems associated with its use, manufacture and
distribution;

Provide, at no cost, professional Meth awareness and prevention education to
groups and organizations on a community, regional and statewide level;
u
Be a no-cost, ongoing resource for South Dakota citizens to deal with issues
rising from the manufacture, use and distribution of Meth.

In
Georgia/Tennessee - A 26-year-old woman arrested as a pregnant fugitive
using an assumed name when she returned to the United States from Mexico pleaded
not guilty to a federal charge of conspiring with two men to distribute Meth in
Tennessee. The men have already made plea deals in their cases. The woman was
arrested while carrying about 8-ounces of Meth in a plastic container. She will
go on trial in December.
In
Tennessee - Police found three bundles of Meth
hidden underneath a truck after a routine traffic stop. The Meth weighed in at
2.5-pounds. The driver, a 27-year-old man, and his passenger, a 35-year-old
man, are charged with possession of crystal Meth for resale. One man also faces
an immigration hold because he is suspected of illegally entering the United
States.
In
Michigan –
Officials
checking on why three young children weren't in school found a working Meth lab
in their home. Officers arrested three people, including the children's mother,
who showed up at the home with more Meth-making materials. In all, four
children were taken into protective custody.
In
Texas - A
deputy stopped a car on a traffic violation and searched the vehicle. He turned
up nearly $30,000 worth of chemicals and materials for a Meth lab.
