47-year-old man from Colorado
pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute Meth. He admitted to being a
part of a group that worked together to deal Meth throughout South Dakota
for about six years, from 2001 until 2007. He faces a mandatory minimum
sentence of of 20 years in prison, with a possible maximum of life in
prison. In Georgia – Police arrested a 33-year-old man after discovering more than 94-grams of Meth in his vehicle while performing a license check. They also seized about 30 prescription painkillers and a .45 caliber pistol. He is charged with trafficking and possession. In Arizona – Two men, 29- and 18-years-old, were arrested on a number of narcotics charges, and a 17-year-old boy was taken to a juvenile court center during the same case. Officers executed a search warrant at the apartment the three shared. Police started investigating them in August, and gathered enough evidence to warrant the search. During the raid, they discovered 1.5-pounds of Meth, about a pound of heroine, a large amount of cash and firearms. In Missouri - Deputies arrested four men and a woman in a raid on an alleged Meth distribution ring. Officers acting on a tip got a search warrant and discovered Meth, marijuana, drug scales, chemicals used to make Meth and firearms in two locations. In Utah - A jury convicted a 44-year-old man on charges of distributing Meth near an elementary school. He was found guilty on five counts, each a first-degree felony. He was arrested after selling Meth to a police informant five times. When he is sentenced in November, he faces the possibility of life in prison on each count. In Pennsylvania - A former middle school principal who pleaded guilty to selling crystal Meth from his office received a sentence of two- to four-years in state prison. The 50-year-old offered apologies to students, teachers and parents at his former school. He was arrested there last February after he tried to sell Meth to an informant. In California – A 54-year-old man called police to report an acquaintance had clubbed him over the head with a rock in sock, stole his car, his Meth and one-dollar. The suspect dragged the victim inside an apartment, tied him up and ransacked the home. The victim freed himself and called police, who caught the suspect a short time later. In Indiana – A 38-year-old man originally faced multiple charges including dealing in Meth, a Class A Felony and maintaining a common nuisance, a Class D Felony along with some misdemeanor charges. He was arrested when police officers served a search warrant at his home, where he lived with a 25-year-old woman and two children. The residence is one block from an elementary school. The search resulted in the seizure of a complete Meth lab, paraphernalia and suspected marijuana remnants. He agreed to plea bargain, admitting guilt to one charge of possession of a controlled substance, a Class C Felony. He will receive a jail sentence of six years with three years suspended and will receive credit for any time served in jail awaiting a trial on the charges. The sentence will be served on work release. He will serve three years of probation after his release from jail, and is ordered to pay fines of $1 plus court costs. In Indiana – Two men, 47- and 40-years-old, were arrested when police raided a Meth lab near a high school. In Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada – Police discovered a Meth lab, loaded guns and stolen property during a search for a stolen car. The original investigation into the auto theft took officers to a dead-end street where they came upon a large amount of stolen property and the Meth lab in an outbuilding. The lab was described as large and complex. They also found at least a dozen automatic and semi-automatic weapons. Four men and two women were arrested. The home on the property had an elaborate security system with perimeter sensors and video cameras.
