In South Dakota - A 47-year-old
Rapid City man was sentenced to slightly more than eight-years in prison
for his role in a Meth distribution conspiracy. He was also ordered to
serve four years of supervised release after his 97-months in prison. He
pleaded guilty to possession for distribution. In
Minnesota – When a police officer stopped to help two men who flagged
him down for a ride, he took all the right precautions. He told the two
that he would give them a lift, but only if they put all their stuff in
the trunk of his patrol car and submitted to a pat-down to make sure they
didn’t have any weapons. The men agreed, and when the officer frisked
them, he found something besides a weapon. One man, 20-years-old, had a
used Meth pipe in his pant’s pocket. He now faces charges of a drug crime
and possession of drug paraphernalia. In Alabama - Officers responding to a fire at a motel found evidence of a Meth lab in a room. There were reports of a small explosion before the fire, and motel guests on the first floor were evacuated. There were no injuries and officers are still investigating. In
Arkansas - A 50-year-old man was arrested after deputies executed a
search warrant at his home. They seized 13.7-grams of Meth and some
marijuana, as well as a supply of pseudoephedrine and other Meth lab
materials. Officers also discovered multiple firearms. The suspect is
charged with multiple Meth and firearm crimes. In Jakarta, Indonesia - Police in Indonesia are asking the United States' Drugs Enforcement Administration to help examine crystal Meth seized during recent drug raids. They requested the help of the agency’s chemical experts to examine the drug’s composition and to help determine where it originated. National Police and the National Anti-Narcotics Agency raided four factories in three cities, calling the operation a “syndicate”.
