In Iowa - A deputy on routine patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a rural home and called for more officers.  After an investigation, officers arrested two men, 53- and 29-years-old, for felony possession of Meth precursors.  They allegedly had pseudoephedrine and lithium batteries.

In North Dakota – A29-year-old man and his 27-year-old wife waived their right to a trial on charges of Meth possession with intent to deliver.  They were arrested in June after a search of their home and vehicles turned up four small bags of Meth and nearly $10,000 in cash.  The woman has accepted a plea agreement, admitting to possessing Meth, and was sentenced to three years of supervised probation, three years deferred imposition and $325 in court fees.  Her husband is in the process of a plea agreement and awaiting sentencing.

In Idaho - A 21-year-old man was sentenced to five-years in prison following his guilty plea to a single charge of delivery of Meth.  He was originally charged with eight drug felonies.  He is the second drug dealer to be sentenced to prison following grand jury indictments against 13 suspects. Ten have pled guilty, one had the charges dismissed and court action is still pending against the other two.

In North Carolina - Sheriff's deputies investigating a report of suspicious people on a roadside discovered a Meth operation.  A deputy first found a mobile Meth lab in one person’s backpack.  Three men, 29-, 26- and 23-years-old, and a 23-year-old woman were arrested.  Deputies then executed a search warrant at a home and discovered another Meth lab along with about 50-grams of finished Meth.  All four suspects face charges of Meth manufacturing, trafficking and possession along with other related crimes.

In Yamanashi, Japan - Three Nigerian men, 39- 35- and 37 years old, were admitted to an emergency room with abdominal pain and constipation. Seventeen hours later, one of them died of an extreme Meth overdose. A lab test found so much Meth in his urine that an average person could get high from drinking a single sip.  An investigation found that a week earlier, during a trip to China, he had wrapped a half-kilogram of Meth in thirty-five packages made from shrink-wrap and clear plastic tape.  Apparently, the parcels were too large to pass through his intestine, so they remained stuck in his stomach. By the time that the smuggler reached the emergency room, six of the bags had ruptured. One of them was completely empty.  The Journal of Forensic Sciences has an abstract available on the case.

In Utah - A 27-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man face charges of attempted murder and kidnapping in an alleged dispute involving Meth, nun-chucks and a gun nicknamed "Bang, Bang."  Investigators say the two forced an acquaintance to join them in a search for two men they believed had stolen some Meth they had planned to sell.  The two face multiple charges, from possession to first-degree felony attempted murder, aggravated kidnapping, obstructing justice and possessing a firearm as a restricted person.
