In Utah  A 36-year-old man was arrested for Meth possession after leading officers on a foot chase.  The suspect also faces a charge of reckless endangerment for running across a freeway and forcing drivers to swerve and brake.  Police finally captured him hiding under some bushes.  A search of his truck turned up Meth and a Meth pipe.

In Indiana  A 26-year-old woman admitted that she and her 2-year-old daughter lived in a home that housed a Meth lab.  Along with her plea to a charge of neglect of a dependent, she pleaded guilty to possession of Meth and theft.  In exchange for her guilty pleas on those counts, a charge of operating an illegal drug lab will be dismissed and her prison sentence will be capped at 30 years. She admitted to being addicted to Meth and said she injected herself with the drug five minutes before the police searched the home.  She also admitted to stealing fire extinguishers from a motel to help another defendant make the drug.

In Alabama A man found severely burned in a blast-torn building will face charges of felony Meth manufacturing. The 19-year-old was discovered at a shed that apparently exploded while he was cooking Meth.  He was in critical condition.  Police plan to charge him when he leaves the hospital.  This was not the first time the suspect has been burned in a Meth lab accident.

In New Jersey Federal agents announced the largest seizure of crystal Meth in New Jersey's history - 73 pounds worth at least $3 million.  Drug Enforcement Administration agents charged six people in connection with the bust, saying they were American citizens working on behalf of a major Mexican drug ring.  A cocaine bust in Texas led authorities to set up a sting to seize the Meth.  That shipment was bound for New Jersey.  The suspect gave authorities information that led to other members of the conspiracy, including his brother.  Agents discovered information about a large shipment of Meth heading and set up surveillance.  Officers were waiting when the driver pulled her car into the drop-off point, a parking lot.  They found the drugs hidden inside laundry stuffed into duffel bags.  The woman, 28-years-old, was arrested. Five others were also rounded up and arrested for their role in the conspiracy.

In Louisiana A newborn infant who tested positive for Meth at birth is in state custody and the mother, who had the same drugs in her system, faces criminal charges.  O

In Indiana
A 36-year-old man faces Class A felony drug dealing charges, after being accused of supplying Meth to people under the age of 18. He is accused of giving Meth to the 16-year-old daughter of the woman he was living with. When officers executed a search warrant at the home, they saw evidence of Meth manufacturing as well as Meth. A 25-year-old man is also being charged in the case.

In Missouri Two men were sentenced in federal court for a conspiracy to manufacture and distribute Meth.  A 37-year-old was sentenced to 13-years and a 22-year-old received a 10-year-sentence.

In Florida A 29-year-old man received a 15-year prison sentence in a drug case deputies have branded as the largest Meth seizure in the county’s history. The defendant pleaded guilty to six charges, four of which were drug trafficking felony counts.   His 35-year-old brother and co-defendant received a three-year prison sentence earlier after pleading no contest to trafficking. When the two were arrested, deputies seized 27 ounces of Meth, about enough to supply more than 1,000 individual doses.

In Indiana An overnight police raid landed three in jail on preliminary Meth charges. A 57-year-old man was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing Meth; maintaining a common nuisance; and possession of paraphernalia.  A 37-year-old man faces preliminary charges of dealing in Meth, and a 31-year-old woman was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing in Meth and maintaining a common nuisance.  During the raid, officers found 17 bags of Meth, several pieces of drug paraphernalia, several long guns, and one handgun.  Two of the guns were loaded.

In Indiana A
fire chief and a police officer were injured during a Meth lab bust. Police reported that an apartment was filled with smoke and anhydrous ammonia when they arrived. The suspect, a 36-year-old man, wouldn't come out of his house even though it was quickly filling with smoke and anhydrous ammonia from a burning Meth lab.  An officer had to pull him out and away from the toxic fumes.  The officer inhaled too much of the fumes and described the experience, "I've never felt anything like that. Its hard to get your breath; couldn't hardly talk; it made your chest feel like somebody's squeezing on your chest and it’s burning."   Both the officer and the fire chief were rushed to the hospital for treatment and released the next morning. The Meth lab fire was just yards away from a city university.

In Tennessee A 29-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman face charges after officers arrested them at a Meth lab and removed a six-year-old child.  Police found the lab at a rental cabin when a patrolman noticed suspicious activity.  The couple is charged with manufacturing and possessing Meth as well as child abuse.  The man’s six-year-old daughter had been staying in the cabin as well, but was in school when the police raided the Meth lab. She was put in the state’s custody.  The couple had rented the cabin for three days.
