In
Kentucky Police are searching for two suspects connected to a Meth
arrest. They were passengers in a car pulled over for careless driving.
The driver got out and the other two sped away. The abandoned car was
found not long after, with Meth manufacturing ingredients inside it. The
driver was arrested at the original scene.
In
New Hampshire Two men, 34- and 25-years-old,
face Meth trafficking charges in federal court. The younger man claims
the other suspect is a major dealer who brought Meth in bulk from New York
to Boston. They were both arrested after they sold four ounces of Meth to
an informant. Police found another ounce of Meth in the suspects’ car.
In
Iowa A man who traveled to Wisconsin to buy pseudoephedrine was
sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison. The 24-year-old
pleaded guilty to attempting to manufacture Meth. When police picked him
up on an outstanding warrant, they found 12 boxes of pseudoephedrine and
other Meth making materials. The defendant was sentenced to 87 months in
prison, followed by four years of supervised release.
In
New York A 35-year-old man is being charged under a new federal Meth
law. He was arrested after federal investigators found he bought three
times the legal amount of pseudoephedrine. According to the criminal
complaint, the suspect was going from pharmacy to pharmacy buying hundreds
of pills a month and other ingredients used to make Meth - all inside a
drug free school zone. The federal limit for purchasing pseudoephedrine
medication is about 183 pills a month. The suspect is accused of buying
more than a thousand pills. Items used in Meth labs were found in his
home, but no Meth lab was set up. If convicted, he faces up to a year in
jail and could be fined at least $1000.
In
California Five adults were arrested and two young children placed in
protective custody after a Meth bust. Police first responded to a call
about a toddler left unattended on a second-floor balcony. The children,
a 10-month-old and a 22-month-old, were examined and found to have medical
conditions related to neglect and living in unsanitary conditions. The
mother of the youngest child, 22-years-old, and the father of both
youngsters, 31-years-old, were both arrested and face charges of felony
child endangerment and drug-related crimes. The three other suspects, a
39-year-old woman and two men, 43- and 36-years-old, also face multiple
charges. Police say the suspects had used Meth around the children
shortly before officers raided the apartment.
