MAPP-SD, a project of Prairie View Prevention Services, Inc., is a comprehensive
Methamphetamine awareness and prevention project.
MAPP-SD is dedicated to:

Increase
awareness of Meth and the problems associated with its use, manufacture and
distribution;
u
Provide, at no cost, professional Meth awareness and prevention education to
groups and organizations on a community, regional and statewide level;
u
Be a no-cost, ongoing resource for South Dakota citizens to deal with issues
rising from the manufacture, use and distribution of Meth.

In
Texas – A 28-year-old man is charged with Meth manufacturing and
delivery after a joint police and Drug Enforcement Administration
operation. Acting on information supplied by the DEA, police pulled the
suspect over, questioned him and gained enough probable cause to search
the car. Officers found just over four-ounces of Meth in the vehicle,
along with drug paraphernalia. The suspect could face a prison sentence
ranging from five to 99-years if found guilty of the first-class felony
charges.
In
Pennsylvania – A fugitive wanted on Meth charges was captured and
jailed. The 25-year-old man had fled from officers in June, disappearing
into a wooded area, where police thought he might have jumped into a river
to escape. He was found by state police and now faces additional charges
of fleeing police.
In
Florida -
Two men, 37- and
28-years old, were arrested on Meth trafficking charges after detectives
found more than three-pounds of Meth in their car. The suspects, both
from North Carolina, were stopped while delivering drugs after undercover
officers made a buy.
In
Indiana -
A 31-year-old man is
charged with having the materials for a Meth lab, Meth possession and
maintaining a common nuisance. He faces from six months to three years on
each of the felony charges if found guilty. Officers raided the
suspect's residence last February and found materials used for cooking
Meth. The suspect told police he was making it for his own personal
use.
