July 11
In Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada – Officers of the Royal Canadian Mounties busted a major crystal Meth lab on tribal grounds.  A tribal spokesman reported that the RCMP estimated the lab could produce about 40-pounds of Meth per day.  Because of the huge quantities of chemicals found, some nearby houses were evacuated as a safety precaution.

In Idaho -
Officers from a number of states, involving law enforcement from local, state, and federal agencies busted a multi-state Meth ring, leading to at least 51-arrests at 27-locations.  The investigation, dubbed Operation Mountain Lion, has been going on for a year and a half.  The sting traced shipments of crystal Meth from Mexican factories through their intermediate locations in southwestern states to their final destinations.  Over 11 pounds of crystal Meth was recovered in the sting, along with 66 firearms, 14 vehicles and over $97,000 in cash.

In Nevada - A 15-year-old runaway used as a translator by a drug dealer was arrested on suspicion of trafficking Meth.  She faces charges ranging from trafficking Meth to sales and possession of Meth.  She was arrested after selling two ounces of Meth to an undercover detective in a grocery store parking lot. She told police the adult dealer said if he didn't hear from her soon he would know she got arrested. She translated for the adult and negotiated the deal with detectives over the phone.

In Florida – Officers busted a
home Meth lab when they executed a search warrant.  Inside the house, they found the complete lab as wells as about 300 grams of Meth oil and marijuana.  Bleach had been poured on the floors and walls in an attempt to mask the smell of the cooking Meth.  A 40-year-old man was arrested and charged with Meth trafficking and manufacture.  He also had an outstanding warrant for domestic battery.  A 47-year-old woman was arrested and charged with trafficking in Meth, a 46-year-old woman was arrested on charges of possessing Meth and marijuana and a 25-year-old woman faces charges of marijuana possession.

In Tennessee – A tri-state Meth bust led to 98-indictments, with 45 people charged with conspiracy to manufacture and distribute over 300-pounds of Meth - worth more than 17-million dollars.  Law enforcement coordinated efforts in Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia to carry off the sting.  The alleged ringleader was based in Alabama.  According to authorities, his operation used several people to move equipment and chemicals across state lines to make Meth and distribute it.  The ring allegedly made deals with certain businesses to buy large quantities of the products they needed to manufacture the Meth.  According to police, these businesses sold the items without keeping records so they wouldn't get caught.

In Kentucky – Police arrested a 40-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman on Meth charges after a routine traffic stop turned up a mobile Meth lab in the trunk of their car. The couple also had outstanding arrest warrants for Meth production stemming from suspected manufacturing in a home.  The drug activity was first noted at the beginning of July when a pit bull attacked an 18-month-old girl.  The child was hospitalized and police traced the ownership of the dog to the man.  Police searched for the suspect and said they found the remains of a Meth lab in his home.

In California - Two men, 39- and 31-years old, were arrested for allegedly keeping seven-pounds of crystal Meth in a home.  The younger man faces multiple drug charges, including Meth possession for sale and for being a felon with a gun.  The older suspect was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to sell Meth.  They are being held on $2-million bail each. The arrests culminated a four-month long investigation.

In Kentucky - A Meth lab was discovered in a mobile home near an elementary school after police received a tip about possible drug activity.  The lab was not active when officers arrived, but they found evidence it had been used recently, and all the materials were still there. There were indications that children probably lived in the home, but officials are not sure if the youngsters were present during the cooks or if they were exposed to chemicals.  Police are looking for the man who rented the home.
